Hi Discovery,

Try the Iktisat Bank on the main drag through the centre of Girne,

upstairs to English counter, been OK for us.

Not sure of correct address,

it's on a corner on the left though,

going through main Girne 1 way system

I asked this same q a while ago and insured with Lynx opposite the court-house and they seem very efficient. Umbrella were also reccomended by several forum members and i think i shall go with them next time as they sound good. Villa and contents was 90stg.

There is also an insurance broker on the left in the main street Girne before the bank. I'd be wary of banks doing anything important frankly.

It's Umbrella we're insured with,

Through Iktisat Bank Girne

not sure of the premium.

Not had a claim yet.

If you've got time,

Get some quotes.

We are insured with Umbrella via Iktisatbank as are our neighbours whose house we keep an eye on. Whilst we were on holiday this year, someone backed into their gate. We took pictures and gave the bank a short statement and the claim was paid within a couple of weeks. In July, there was a fire in their kitchen causing several hundred pounds worth of damage. An insurance inspector came out, we got quotes, it was approved and the money came through before the work was completed. We have also had to claim when a pane of glass cracked (no, it wasn't the mirror) and the money was in our account within 2 weeks of the claim, 2 days after the pane was replaced. I don't know if they are the cheapest but the claim process is straightforward and they are quick to reimburse, can't get much better than that.

If you are a BRS member you also get discount on Umbrella Insurance via the Iktisatbank. The cost of membership may be outweighed by the amount of discount, I think it is 20% but don't quote me.

I would agree with kav on this. Steve has always looked after me and a lot of others I know. Never heard a bad word about him.

We also used Steve Dickinson he seemed an honest guy and was

recommended highly to us. Would recommend him. Although no claims

made yet, hopefully never will be.
