Terrible Extend Broadband service at the moment in Malatya, second day. Been told it is widespread and because of the weather. Anyone else having problems?

Exactly the same, checked and it's the upload part that's suffering the most. Means that Skype calls are impossible. Is it still raining in Malatya then?

We've been with Extend for a few years, and always had a good connection, but have had a few slow periods of late.

Hopefully they will address it and keep customers, there are a few other options available now.

So Supersnooper will not be recommending Extend then?

Nethouse seems fine!

Been with Extend since they were Ayzanet, have to admit that other companies have moved on with faster speeds. Paid extra for 2MB, mind you at the moment any speed would be great

I had two full days without any service from Extend, here in Karsiyaka, after 48 hours it suddenly returned in full and that was 3 hours before the maintainance crew got here.

Have had absolutely no problems with Extend in this part of Alsancak. Even able to send Emails when it was lashing down with rain plus thunder and lightening.

Re msg 5 - Giles, I just wanted to check and see if I was the only one suffering from "weather". I have to give them a chance and so will call them again tomorrow. I have just been so frustrated spending all day trying to put bargains on my website and not being able to send emails.

Thanks for the comments, it seems as though the problem is restricted to my area.

I was without any signal for 7 days as still are several of my neighbours. Apparently the radio station on the Merit Hotel has been de-commissioned and if a receiver cannot pick up an alternative signal from an adjacent hotel then everything becomes coitus interruptus. My reception has been realigned today by Extend. There was no fee to pay but I doubt they will feel responsible for all the roof tiles cracked during the operation ! Regret I am unaware of any easy solution only pursue matters via the helpdesk who admit to a waiting list.

I thought 'coitus interruptus' was a form of birth control-not sure what that has to do with wireless internet reception-I'm confused

I did email Extend, and sent a link to this thread, needless to say no reply, but our speed seems ok again (Merit base station)

Yrret. Glad to learn you are now going again at pace. The Extend documentation I have indicates that the Merit is now decommissioned and my signal (now working) is from the adjacent Golden Bay Hotel. It may be in time that it would be best for you to get the alignment of your receiver checked for optimum performance.

PhilUK. Sorry that you are insensitive to my analogy at 11 but after 7 years with Extend as a provider of "servicing" it is like using the "rhythm method". I "log in" and they regularly "time me out" I have had flirtations with other ISPs over the years in tandem with continuing to pay for Extend but over protracted "periods", Extend, for me, has been the best of a poor bunch. I feel sorry for those who try and run a business from/within TRNC if uninterrupted internet access is vital and for my neighbours who are waiting an age to reconnect.

That will be the same Extend who, when caught illegally hooked up to mountain masts, cut off their customers mid contract. No explanation and no refund. Once bitten twice shy, I will stay with honest traders.
