Why should Britain and Greece play any part in future negotiations as guarantor powers when they abrogated such powers by a heartless, and cowardly, negative stance 4 decades ago allowing obvious genocide to continue ?

In some way the GCs assuming the EU presidency could be a good thing. Worrying as it may be for some, it would put their decisions under the EU spotlight.

There must be clear pressure on the UN and EU to seek some progress on settlement before the ROC takes its position as president of the EU.

Any President that is in domestic dispute cannot remain totally focused on its very responsible role of governance and furthermore who knows how the presidency may use its position to further its own vendetta. There is indeed a clear vendetta against the TRNC and Turkey.

This distinct possibilty must be in the minds of fellows of the EU and UN. What can the other EU states do if the ROC does in fact get carried away? Will any of them have the guts to intervene? The TRNC isolation and embargo is not really of great importance to the EU. I fear nothing will be done and the ROC will be quietly, stealthily, subversive.

How bold or even stupid will the ROC be if there is no progress before next summer?
