We will be holding our first obedience class tomorrow at 1pm. Any interest please call Mo on 05338459274.

THURSDAY 1.00 pm

On the Car Boot Site behind the Pine Bay Hotel.

Basic Training given in learning to 'control' your dog - The dogs really enjoy this exercise and the owners too get a great deal out of it.

It is fantastic when you ee the change in your dog in such a very short time.

Well done guys, this is much needed.

A well trained / behaved dog is a pleasure to take out. You only get back from your dog what you put in!

Hippo Msg 7 - Yep!! we take on badly behaved hippos - you do the work and we will give you the trainign and support

Botanica Msg 8 - Yep!! Once a week - the length of time depends on you, the dog beginners learn from older members of the group

Blade msg 9 - You are so right Blade, it is a pleasure to see the dogs responding and enjoying communicating with their owners

Decanddyl msg 10 mmmmm - Husbands???????

Well not sure about that, been training mine for 47 years - the dogs respond better!!!!

Ailletoo Msg 11 - Spot on!!!!!

It is more about training the people - with a little help from the dogs!!!!

Hi Guys

SORRY GUYS, we are going to have to CANCEL today's class.

The ground is OK, but the rain is coming does in sheets at the moment.

PLEASE come along next week and give your Dog and Yourself a Treat.

It is such a lovely feeling when the dog obeys your commands and you can see their eyes light up because of the communication between the 2 of you.

All Proceeds go to KAR

SWCathy - I would love to join this class - MY dog is very nervous - and she doesn't like small dogs - she has greyhound / lurcher in her so think she sees small dogs as rabbits .

When I take her out I have to drive her to the location - she will NOT walk on the lead in the village she is TERRİFİED - what can be done about this and do you think she would be better in a one to one situation?

many thanks

Dearie, have you tried walking her side by side with someone else who has a dog? Dog's are often encouraged by other dogs and learn a lot by watching others.

Hi Deary

It is not unusual for dogs to be nervous where there are other dogs small or large.

You could bring her to the class and I can assess her with you. We can then see how she progresses

If she needs one - to - one, that can be arranged. I have done one-2-one with a deaf dog and he is coming on great now - his problem is that he is agressive to other dogs - but with a deaf dog you have no voice control with him.

If a dog is nervous, it needs to know that you are in control.... that's what is important and the classes do that.

BoTanica - no haven't tried that - you think that would help her with her nerves?

SWCathy - thanks for that - weather permitting next week I will bring her along

Dearie, I am sure that the classes will help you and your girl. You may even meet someone who lives near you that you can go on "practice" walks with. Best of luck! I wish I could go - but the time clashes with my work.

Dog obedience is a 2 way process, as you gain confidence your dog will also gain confidence. She will then trust your judgement. The obedience process helps to do that.

Do you assess the dogs first? I went to a class and was petrified when a very aggressive dog tried to join the group, owners and trainers had problem controlling him, i was petrified and i dont want my dog feeling that fear from me!!

I would love to join the group please but need to know first the answer to my question.

Thank you
