Any team playing an understrength side deserves to lose. Total lack of respect IMO

| Turtle I see your point, but its hardly a suprise selection. Burnley was full tonight as a result of their lowering prices and a chance to see a very good game of football. If it were a league match I would agree about the respect thing but its a Knock out competition and Arsene doesn't fill the team with first choice players when they come up against other Premier League sides or when it gets to the later stages. | Turtle you are talking out of your rear end mate . Those players out there tonight are good enough to get into most premiership sides. They are players waiting in the wings for when they are needed. You don't get experience by coming on for the last ten minutes of a game, You get it from playing a whole game in a competitive competition. Wenger knows what he is doing The respect you are talking about goes to Wenger for allowing these an opportunity they would not get anywhere else. What other team can fill their stadium for a youth team game ? Two gates of 60'000 to watch your youth team, now that is what i call respect ! |

Football matches are won by goals scored mate . We didn't score, they did !! Good luck to Burnley, I am not disputing the fact that we lost ! Respect for the competition was what i was replying to , not the fact that we lost.

Arry, so you`re saying the gooners ain`t got any respect for the competition (unless they get to the final). With the exception of Ramsey (shame his welsh), there aint a lot there. Sorry mate, you are gonna end up potless again.

well done to burnley, goalkeeper man of the match gooners didnt take there chances its not about any disrepect to the competion we always play our youth side in c/cup as arry said you have to give them yougsters the experience, as for going potless again , maybe , but to win champion legue/ premership you cannot win if you are never in contention we are always in with a shout, you write the gooners off at your peril have a nice day

It's OK I managed to find myself.... But I still can't work out the 'logic' of "If it were a league match I would agree about the respect thing but its a Knock out competition and Arsene doesn't fill the team with first choice players when they come up against other Premier League sides or when it gets to the later stages."

Groucho I think it's a matter of priorities. That's Wengers thinking. The money is in the Champions League, so you have to qualify for it first. I hear what you are saying, and it is often said, but be honest do you like watching 17 and 18 year olds playing the way they do against ANY opposition ? It is a fantastic experience for them to play in front of 60,000 fans Remember , some of them will not make it to the top , but he taste of it might just be enough to give them that little bit extra.

Sorry Groucho I meant that if it was a league match you have to play your strongest side out of respect to the other teams in the league. In a knock out competition you only have yourself to answer to (and your fans) I think most gooners like to see the kids in a competitive environment in the Carling Cup. Paul

Surely though as Manager you would want your Team to win all their matches.
