I have a question regarding the census taking place on Sunday.

Is the census for over 18's or for everyone?

Our next door neighbor has one child, and the child's passport is in the UK being renewed, not in the embassy on the south. It was taken to the UK by the child's grandparents and they will be bringing over the new one when they fly back.

He's worried, what would he need to do?

I'm pretty sure they don't do a passport check... they ask a series of questions and fill in a form. In any case they can't see what the chap can't lay his hands on... they'll be out of there as quick as they can.

Remembering the last census, I recall we were able to download an English version which was filled in and handed to the guys who came to our house. Anyone know if one is available this time round?

Kids under 18 are usually include for residency purposes on their parents details. Its when they reach 18 they have to do residency in their own right. So i am guessing as long as the parents paperwork is in order all will be fine.

Ian,

We were not asked for passport details last time around so wouldn't worry.

Ianxxx - I wasn't asked for passport details last time. Mr Spangles was returning from UK at approx 7pm that evening and he wasn't included at all. As Groucho says they ask the questions and fill in the answers.

At the time 6 houses were being built in front of us and the Turkish builders were living in them. The young lady who came to do the census would not go to see any of the builders. They were all excluded.

Don't worry.

My wife was included although she was in UK at the time. They were just students that called a few questions and they were on their way.

They got to me quite early last time, we must have been one of the first. What I remember most was how nervous they were - either university students or very junior civil servants. They didn't have much English and struggled desperately to translate the questions.

I remember one UK census, when I left the completed form on the breakfast room table when going to bed. My eight year old daughter filled it in with the names of our dog and cat and unwittingly, I posted it.

When my cousin in Utah was doing the family tree recently, she was surprised I had two extra kids.
