Starling, Ileli and Atakara all sell fresh milk, it is in a blue bottle mainly although you have to be careful NOT to buy the Ayran instead as the bottles are exactly the same. Sut on the side is the give away for proper milk.

Fresh Milk is called "Taze Sut".

There are 2 suppliers:-

Mera which comes in a blue plastic bottle (so does their Ayram so be careful). All supermarkets sell Mera

Seren which comes in a waxed paper carton - whitish with red company name. In my opinion Seren is far nicer than Mera but it is fairly new and not everybody sells it. Ileli and Starlings do - maybe others.

Thanks geronimo,

Ive tried the Ayram. Its an acquired taste, but settles the stomach nicely.

Looks like a trip to starling.

I think Mera (blue bottle) is far better,,seren is tasteless and the cartons are a pain to open sometimes.

2Labs, The fresh milk is always in the refrigerated section of any supermarket - the UHT milk is not.

Fresh milk freezes beautifully so it is a good idea to buy several containers when you see it and put it straight into the freezer. The carton one is best as it does not waste space in the freezer. Do not open either the bottle or the carton before freezing. Remove from freezer 3 days before required for use and place in the fridge, it will then be ready for use. The bottles are a bit messy in the fridge as the milk expands in the freezer and as it defrosts the surplus runs into the fridge, it is only a small quantity. Stand bottle upright to defrost and place in door rack on some folded kitchen towel to avoid the mess. I always have three in my fridge, one in use, one semi defrosted and one from freezer as I empty one, it works really well. Only use one or two day old milk, so check the dates when buying.
