Would be good to know what progress is being made and in which areas - what is your plan for the day?

Cleaned chimney already, dog washing next, garage cleaning after that - might even wash the car if the electric holds up that long.....

Arrived here in Ozankoy just after 8 - am still not sure what information they are hoping to glean from all of this - as they should have virtually all of it already!!

Census taker just left me. Young Cypriot girl raised in UK so perfect English - and very nice. She has found out from me that of the 22 houses she was allocated only 4 are occupied so she will be home by 11am.

Quite painless and no intrusive questions.

Were the forms filled in with pencil again this time? The young lady who visited us in 2006 said she and the rest of the census takers earned £80 for the day each.

Metin. "the Questionnaire information is for the Greeks" ! To evaluate and decide upon legal process ? Thats it then, "I was unemployed for 50 years, lived off the state, was born in Athens, and I do not have a pot to pee in (please close the gate behind you)" !

Our's finished! Hard work for the two guys but we managed to get answers to the questions - lots about education and working life. Nice guys who are now very tired. Only one form in English so we could understand the questions but answers put down in the big book of forms in ink.

If nothing else we have been counted!

We were done at about 12 o'clock near the Grove Inn. A lady and her daughter. No English so hubby answered all the questions. They did accept Turkish coffee though when offered and the mother also smoked a cigarette (without asking!) so not sure about message 11! We had to show passports. Lots of questions about house, age of house, rooms, AC, water, electric etc and also education level, employment history, how long we've been in TRNC, why we are here etc.

They said we can't leave until 6pm and there are police everywhere stopping anyone they see out and about. There is a fine if you get caught out before 6pm even if you've already done your census thing.

Been done this morning, from a local electrician that didn't speak a word of Eglish, He called back this afternoon to fill in missing answers that we missed.

The only problem, it wasn't our page from the morning visit, and have given details for other owners in a different apt number.

But... No problem, as they always say over here.

Two men turned up quite early (9ish) and asked if I were NO 4 or 4A. I explained I was No. 4 and there was no 4A on the street. They already seemed to have filled inNo 1 but ignored 2 and 3 (odd nos are on one side , even on the other) Then I took the form from them, checked it and explained that they were on the wrong street! You couldn't make it up.! At this stage my Turkish ran out so I took them outside and found a neighbour to direct them to the street on their list!

Since then - yok . I ve been in the garden and the back of the house, but surely my dogs would have barked if I didnt hear the door. Come to think of it the dogs opposite havent barked either 4.20 - 40 mins to go, or did I see somewhere it was extended to 8 pm

Above message copies from another thread above. Now 5.45 and no one here! Has anyone else in Ozankoy been missed out?
