Almost the same with us - plus the usual parents birth place, a little taken aback when I said no, when he took it for granted father born in UK! Then I spoke to friends, who had even to get their passports out and checked and size of plot and size of house etc. Ours took a few minutes thats all, so where the other 80 odd questions went I dont know - love to know what some of the boxes just ticked off were about!!

That`s the thing with a census form,it asks YOU,for answers to the questions, only You can fill the form in correctly.

You should also sign the form

If you lie you can be subject to financial penalties.

I think that by allowing the census taker to fill in the form, that he ticked the boxes that will increase my tax bill, and giving them the deeds to my house and access to my bank account

My youngest daughter is now engaged to Achmed

The whole thing was a farce from start to finish. How many Million TL did it cost? Most of the questions they already have on their own data base (remember when you first came here you had to give your parents name and place of birth) It's all there somewhere, plus sq.mt of house and whether we have a pool, plus how many rooms we have. They have all that on record. When they asked how many live children I've had got, the answer was N/A. If you didn't get asked that question it's because many of them they filled in themselves. God knows what they put. As I said, it's a farce. 3 nice cheery blokes though. A good day out and being paid for it. Can't be bad can it?

Is that three 'blokes' for one house??? No wonder there were 8,000 of them! Only one came here.

Having read what questions were asked, I made a form giving all the answers with all the questions in English and Turkish and It all was over in 10 minutes. our guy was very thorough.

I can also use this form for the muhtar. They always have trouble with the spelling, as some is English and some German

this was my third or fourth census... all the same questions... no change at all.

THIS worries me; when a customer, a child, my wife , always and always the same question.. it indicates that they really have no clue whats going on!, or just throw the datas collected into a (brain) dustbin.

If "somebody" alwasy says "i do not know" or "forgets" about what "should be known" beause many times heart, it is not important, or not important enough (to know and to keep). Fine, ok, maybe iam wrong.. but why not NEW questions were asked: eg show my working/business permit, my social insurance number, my business name or employer? or "modern" survey: do you have an INTERNET connection? how fast it is? and so on.. a great chance.. missed. To my opinion.

Perhaps it was an intended "senseless" and not a census, but the title was lost in translation of languages.

It was when he asked me If I had any mental problems and I replied '' What are you asking me for,I'm a chicken '' that he knew he had problems.
