@ Maggie: Well done - though not quite correct... Around 1880, when Mr H.H. Kitchener designed his map of Cyprus (just one!), he was a Captain in the British Army.

He's also world famous for his very exact map of Nicosia; both maps were invaluable for the British rulers of Cyprus.
