We were having lunch at Happy Valley when a dog got hit outside. Although she does not appear badly hurt she is obviously very shaky. She is a white/golden labrador type dog under two years old, has a yellow collar and red KAR eartag numbered 000717. Riaz is happy for her to stay outside tonight and the KAR warden will hopefully go round tomorrow to check on her (if she's still there). We have left a blanket for her if she does stay.

If this very frightened and bewildered dog is yours or you know who the owner is contact Riaz at HV.

If it has a red KAR ear tag then it is a street dog & does not have an owner unfortunately, let's hope this poor dog was just shaken up & not hurt.

Not being a dog owner wasn't aware of this.....shame she has no owner as she seemed a very friendly thing (and no, not interested in taking a dog on)

unfortunately you could see this coming - she has been pushed further and further down the village, people do not want street dogs in the village as they upset the chained dogs causing lots of noise and frighten people walking about.

But like you say a very friendly dog but goodness knows what she will look like in a few weeks - did not seem to be the usual street dog ie street wise but what can one do with so many dogs and cats on the island.
