hi folks just to give you an update i have just telephoned england and spoke to Halifax and guess what they was not bothered or to thank me for letting them know. NOTHING.. i feel very sorry for thousands of people who will pulled in by this scam as firstly it did not go in my junk box even though i have Norton Internet security and secondly the subject stated Halifax so most people would open this up.

Please inform your family and friends of this one and at the same time these big banks should be named and shared as they are not protecting there customers.

I have also had this mail though mine was supposedly from Lloyds. These scammers are sending random e-mails saying that they are from various banks just hoping they have hit the right target. I wonder though, where they are getting the addresses.

No reputable company EVER asks for your personal details , be it by internet, cold calls to your home or other dubious means ! Never, ever, disclose your personal details to a stranger by means of electronic communication ! If you follow this rule, your details will remain safe from fraudsters !

A lot of details are obtained from these round robin sort of emails. ALWAYS, when forwarding emails, delete all the previous senders details & send them under 'bcc'.

I have just had a call from 'National Surveys' ??????????? They began by asking me to complete a quick survey about my area and it would only take 3 minutes of my time. Curious, I agreed. He then proceeded to ask me to confirm my name and address which he knew, we are ex directory so he would not have got it from the phone book. I was asked if I had a mail address which I denied. Next question was how many live in the household and what age I was!!!!! Then, which bank or post office did I have an account in !!!! And which restaurants I ate in and how often, did I prefer to eat out at lunchtime or evening. Of course I lied all the way, but it makes you wonder what would happen if some little pensioner was to give them all the information innocently. The number was witheld surprisingly....

These bank emails and even phone texts keep coming up, also ebay, paypal etc., if I see any ebay, paypal or anything from my bank(even if I think its genuine), I log in independently to the appropiate site, as a message would show there as well. I never follow any links.
