My friend has tried to access her yahoo email but a window keeps appearing to say Internet explorer has stopped working. The same message appears when she types in the search box and clicks search

Yet she can read any news article on this yahoo home page.

Also, please does anyone now how to delete a homepage.

Please can anyone help - thanks

Rowlo those are the instructions for removing installed programs, I think the earlier poster was suggesting removing IE add-ons which generally do not show up as installed programs in the place you suggest. It does depend on which version of IE you are using but later versions have an option from the IE menu - tools - internet options , then programs tab, then manage add ons. You should be able to disable the add ons from there.

Another approach would be to bypass the problem by istalling and using an alternative browser to IE, like firefox of google chrome.

Another suggestion could be to use System Restore, a feature of Windows to revert back to an earlier configuration. It is usually under Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. You can choose from the calender an earlier date (one that your IE was working) and restore your computer to that configuration.

internet explorer is so unreliable, when we try to upgrade ours to IE9 my husband can't get into his mailbox so we end up having to do a system restore to the old IE. I find Mozilla Firefox is far better and will always use that given the choice. Try downloading Mozilla and you can have the yahoo mail tool bar which has a mail notifier on it. It works for me!

Google's browser "Chrome" has taken over first place from Internet Explorer. Check this browser and you'll never touch IE again!
