I have both an HP and a Toshiba, both as good as each other, so if they are same spec, I would go for price.

I bought a Sony VAIO a year or so back and it's the best laptop I ever had.

I have a Toshiba Satelite, when I say I, the fatura is in Agile's name. it has a Turkish keyboard and so I have to have a secondary keyboard which is a drag.

I did have a HP one Laura, who now lives in Girne Nick (probably) far better than the Toshiba.

I and a few others who have had a Toshiba have noted that they struggle with the heat here. You will probably have to get an external cooling fan for it.

I have a 5 year old Sony Vaio which has come to the end of its life. Just bought a HP in the UK, very pleased with it. I use a Samsung netbook for in bed!! I had Toshiba's years ago...when they were black and white!! They kept going wrong so I have always been put off of them. Obvisously technology has changed and things would of improved with Toshiba's. Acer is also good and fairly cheap (from the UK)

I had a Vaio for years and it lasted well. Got a new one and only got 18 months out of it. It didn't do well in the heat here.

Currently using a HP, which has been fine but still gets warm in summer.

Using my sons Samsung in the UK, thats what i will buy next time around.

Toshiba, i wouldn't give the time of day to.

We have 2 HP laptops and they are great. The first is about 3 yrs old and the 2nd is now 18months old and too date we have had no problems whatsoever.

Cannot compare these to Toshiba as we have never had Toshiba but we are more than happy with what we have got!

Forgot to say that my husband has the HP with a 17" screen and he loves it for reading newspapers - don't ask me why as I can read them perfectly on my 15" screen!

Hi -

Santa has just bought me a new Toshiba laptop from Techmar it's great, I love it had a PC World one from the Uk for years so hope it's as good!!!!

If your living here I feel it's best to buy here just in case something does go wrong with it then you can go back to the shop.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas & All the Best for 2012........................

Thanks Linda.........................

Best laptop is the MacBook Pro, you can't beat it for speed, it's user friendly, you can install Mac OS X Lion, and Windows 7 and they both run like a dream. I know they are a bit costly but well worth it. they are just on a class of their own, a beautiful looking laptop.

hello asus laptop i used for 4 years out here in cyprus, it can withstand almost anything even my toddler. they are quite reasonable this time of year from the uk but a little costly out here in cyprus, but very good laptops. out of the two as your options toshiba is good too,but for £420 you can get a top spec asus from uk and get some one to bring it out to you here..good luck what ever you decide..
