Does know of anyone moving out to North Cyprus who might have some spare container space?

Someone has kindly donated to KAR a wheelie bin full of Hills dog/cat/puppy/kitten food along with about 15 cat baskets. We need to get them from the Sheffield area over to here so if you know of anyone who can help please either e-mail KAR at kar@kyreniaanimalrescue.org or phone the office on 0533 869 4098.

Many thanks

Hi

I'll be happy to help. There's a sailing the second week in January and collection from Sheffield area isn't a problem. Please ask the people there to phone me and we'll get it organised.

Kind regards

Jo Valentine

Jo Valentine.

Sets an example to us all. I am far from an animal lover however this act of community compassion shows the way that many of us could follow.

Valentine Removals

Thank you

Someone from KAR will contact you tomorrow, your help is appreciated.

Whilst on the subject KAR have a dog called Otto, a Basset Hound with an overspill of personality. otto is a tagged street dog but has a potential home in England.

But he is in danger of losing his chance.

It has just been discovered that he needs a operation that will cost a 1000tl before he can be re-homed.

Can anyone help please?

I'd be happy to donate towards it - how about we all chip in and help pay for this little chaps op?

Thanks mozqor

Very easy to make a donation see the link

http://www.kyreniaanimalrescue.org/contact.html

Just scroll down the page donations can be made by electronic transfer, post or by simply popping into the office, shop or centre.

Just make a note that the money is for Otto (not all of the staff will be aware of Otto`s plight, we have lots of dogs! But the donation will find it`s way to the right place.

Also there will be a couple of Santa`s in the Girne plaza tomorrow (Thursday) on the KAR information stand from 10.00am to 2.00pm armed with a Otto Bucket.

Next to Girne Beledesiyi near to the recycled Turtle.

Cheers

Hi Sallie

I've not seen anything from you, and can't do a search for your email address as it's hidden.

Could you please email me again?

Best regards

Jo Valentine

Hamish,

Have you imported dog/cat food before? In case not, I'm not sure if the regs are different for animals but just a suggestion, it might be worth your while asking at the Health Ministry if you need to get any special permissions (you never know here, we have to have special permissions to bring water, food, cosmetics, insecticides, pesticides, in fact anything that could be consumed/used by humans, although that is when being brought in to Cyprus for business purposes. Your task might be in convincing customs that the food is not for resale, it's for your own use). Do you have some document showing that the food is a donation to KAR? Better to ask now than risk it having to wait in Famagusta while you get the necessary paperwork done.

Of course, I might be way off course and worrying unnecessarily so apologies if I am.
