This Sunday of course the one at Pne Bay will not be on s it's Christmas, but it's Great Boot Market, with loads of stalls, Arif cooking bacon butties and hamburgers, and anyone new will be made to feel very welcome, so come alon to the one on the 1st January. A nice gentle way to get al little exercise, spend a bit of money and relax after New Years Eve.

No one has mentioned Chateau Lambousa, which is in my opinion is the best market/boot fair around. Every Saturday (this Sat as well). Indoor & out, so rain or shine.

Its the largest of all of the markets and the oldest. In the summer, there can be up to 180 stalls.

Starts at 8 ish and finishes at 1pm.

Just drive past the LA Hotel in Lapta, take a left and then 1st left.

Its well worth a visit.

And the Carpenters which is on every Friday in Karaoglanoglu. Including this Friday..... (although it will be the last one until 13th Jan).

Its situated in the garden of the Carpenters Restaurant on the way to the Mountain View Hotel.

This market is outdoors so its weather permitting.

Hi Stella, Sorry Boot Fair not on Sunday 1st January, as Mo decided that no one would much feel like getting up after New Year's Eve Celebrations (and she is probably right), so back on Sunday 8th January, the one and only Car Boot Fair, which is growing weekly! I know like me you will miss it greatly over Christmas Stella, we won't know what to do with ourselves, but I am sure we will have a great week on the 8th and look forward to seeing your smiling face then, you take care and enjoy your Christmas you deserve it xx

i suppose with the price of the properties and the dubious nature of the land ownership, its no wonder that car boot sales are so popular............

To sum up:

Around Girne you've got 4 markets/car boots on Sunday: Pembe Gül Garden Centre in Ozanköy in the grounds of the garden centre next to K-Pet Petrol Station, Soyz Bar in Çatalköy, The Lodge in Çatalköy, Pine Bay in Alsancak/Karaoğlanoğlü. They are all in the mornings until 1pm ish.

Wednesday I believe the Pembe Gül Garden Centre have a small market in the morning. And you've also got the big market in the centre of Girne all day Wednesday where you do sometimes get some of the locals selling second hand clothes/homewares

Thursday you have Açmenya Restaurant market 11-3pm

Friday morning is Carpenters Restaurant market in Karaoğlanoğlü (just after Bektaş supermarket on the right driving from Girne)

Saturday morning you've got Chateau Lambousa

You should be happy with the Sunday car boot. It's been picking up nicely these past few months as more and more people get involved as stallholders and/or customers. In relation to the size of the country, this one's is a great car boot, and you get not just second hand stuff but a good balance of new and old.
