Wind changed back to the East and it's warm again... It was coming from the North over the Taurus mountain range in Turkey and was quite cold at night for about a week but come Friday I noticed it was warm again in the breeze at night...

Jock1

Not complaining, but as I just returned from N.Cyprus I did notice

the contrast! Spent over 10 years in hot countries so think I must

have got soft, or just old! We don't often get it so cold before New Year

and I remember colder winters long ago. Can't wait for next visit to N.C

Please everyone in the UK or Scandinavia keep reminding me of how COLD and DARK it is. Here I rise to see the sunrise and go for a walk in a T shirt......BUT I miss the feeling of advent and the excitement of christmas get togethers.....but I did - amongst many other considerations -come here for the mild climate.....so keep reminding me please

Coachie - we cook dumplings here in the south-east as well, you know. Admit, have no idea what a "lobby" is, but would really like to know!

The Wicks...Can only describe it as a stew with beef, various veg to your own liking slow cooked for the day and put your dumplings in about 20mins before you want to eat.Best served in a bowl (large) with a spoon and a couple of slices of bread to soak up the gravy. "lobby" is just the potteries name for what other people call a beef stew....When cooking a good dollop of Worcester sauce adds a nice taste to it.......
