Mike You have been pointed towards the website and given the phone number on another thread. The proprietor displays her email adress in her profile as well. This form of posting is not in strict accordance with forum rules and as you can see it riles some members (regardless of the actual establishment involved) Can I ask the establishment concerned not to respond via the board (I don't believe they would anyway) and can all members refrain from this type of posting in future. I have left this post on here for now and hope you have a pleasant evening. Can I ask other members not to post comments further and the thread will gracefully sink out of sight. Paul

I'm so sorry I did not know asking for a local number would have created such a fuss.It was an innocent request.I looked in Yellow Pages, local paper,no number could I find.Thank you for giving me the number, and the members who have a problem with this "get a life".I've only been living here a few months, there seems a divided Brits North....those that feel they are stuck on an island in the middle of the Med,moan and groan and get there kicks from that, and the other nice people who are helpful, and kind.Thank you for the latter

I second that Michael, but try and lay your hands on a Buzz Book, most Hotels/Exchange places have them on show and they are free and have all the numbers you want, so that you don't offend anyone, not me as I am harden to insults now smithy

Paul, As you haven't actually 'locked' the thread, I don't think that it would harm tp point out to Mike and any other new members that the 'Search' facility at the top of the page is a very powerfull tool for finding any information that has previously been posted on the forum. Also, being a relatively new member, the person in question may not have access to email addresses yet... Also it was not a personal post, it was a request for information, and the poster may well be unaware of the unpleasantness created by some members reactions to the very mention of this establishment's name - That is not HIS fault - the people who need moderating are the ones who make sarcastic comments in response to a request for help. I see that you have left their comments standing. Just my opinion of course. Keith.

Mike do not apologise. You must feel like you have walked into Hell's Kitchen. The problem is not you. There are just too many moderators waiting in the wings, waiting to catch someone. I bet you didn't know there are believe it or not about 12 of them. Val xx

J, with Nige you can never be quite sure... I see that some one has just started two threads asking for information on the Savoy, and the Rocks, wonder if they'll be 'ticked' off for something...

Keith We can't lock threads, only Izzet can as far as I can see although some people would try to hack through that I guess. I checked and Mike has the requisite number of posts to see email addresses if displayed. Mike There was absolutely no problem with your asking for the telephone number, even if there is a search facility its not a problem as such. The post asking for a booking was what became a personal post particularly as you started it after replies had already been given to give contact details. It was no big deal and I hope that you are OK with it. I could have just deleted the post but felt that that would be going over the top when a bit of helpful advice was more suitable. To All I didn't make the rules, but I suppose that the no personal message rule is there to prevent clutter. Personally I can't see it being a big problem but the rule is there. Have a fantastic Sunday and happy Bayram for tomorrow. Paul

makes you almost frightened to ask questions on here now in fear of annoying the city fathers. I feel sorry for the lady mikalapta for having the sheer cheek and nerve for putting that seemingly innocous post on here. Keithcaley message 8 superb, helpful, and understanding, perhaps after the recent troubles some people are taking themselves a bit to serious. Mikalapta have a good time and enjoy despite your telling off.

Finally got around to going today and had a very enjoyable lunch. I have read all the stuff on here and Lilli really is a fine host, so often one follows a lead to find the staff, management and food are not as good as anticicpated. For those couple who keep having a dig, go and try it then you will realise why it keeps getting recommendations.

Lilli I think your customers should be able to post their experiences on this board, it's the very essence of the board to share information and experiences. You will get some bad feedback as well, but I have to say that the balance seems remarkably in your favour and I wish you all the luck in the world with your venture. I would be very sad if people were posting either type of experience for ulterior motives but I always try to see the best in people until proved otherwise. It was only the asking for a reservation that in my opinion stepped over the line and I am sure you wouldn't want to take your bookings that way in any case. A lot of the interest in the thread comes from those who have a probem with the moderation on this board. Well I tried my best in this case to be sensible, obviously not to the liking of some but I will continue to do that every time I come across something not in accordance with the rules without malice or favouritism, its all I can do.

Wht jump in to moderate the original post? It wasn't offensive. OK it slightly broke a rule. Don't take your job too seriously. We have a small membership andare here to enjoy the experience, Moderation in moderation please. d

Paul, I don't know if you remember, but on an earlier thread solely devoted to the subject of Moderators I did plead for tolerance and understanding FOR the moderators. I'm sure that everyone will realise - if they stop and think about it - that there is a learning curve, as in most things. So we, the posters, have to be tolerant of your mistakes too. That is not to say that we will not point them out to you with some degree of relish! - And sometimes a little note inserted at the bottom of a post, just as a reminder, will be just as effective - and offend fewer people- than a deletion. Happy learning! Keith.

Keith Point taken, but obviously I didn't go for a deletion just posted in the thread (the mod's comment in the first post is not mine but it points out the rule in question) The reasoning behind this choice was that I didn't want Mike or anyone else to think it was some huge slap on the wrist, it wasn't, but its tough to get intentions over in text. I welcome advice and reaction so no problem. Paul

Bloody hell,I am so sorry for all the fuss.I now have their business card and will never have to ask for number again..For those who supported me in a simple request for a telephone number ;thank you again.I understand my moderator, and I feel like OJ Simpson..sorry sorry I didn't kill those people all those years ago,I was proved "innocent",and it was accidental I carried a gun,I just wanted my things back!!!. Again,to those members who have picked on an innocent new member,no family, just wanting to take a friend out for Sunday lunch...up yours !!! Thank you Liz and Guido,it was a lovely lunch. Perhaps those who deem to criticise just get a life.

Hi Lilli Not sold the sofa bed as yet, someone has just rang but over here they want things for nothing, so will wait and see. This is the first year without my granddaughters so I'm pretty sad about them moving to Thailand where their daddy works, but a week in the UK will do me good, many thanks for your good wishes, and I will meet up with you very soon. Smithy (Sheila) dont think there is a princess named Sheila, but hey who cares
