The Duke of Edinburgh was rushed to hospital this evening after suffering what was described as a ‘serious heart scare’.

The Queen’s 90-year-old husband began experiencing chest pains as the Royal family gathered for Christmas at Sandringham, the monarch’s private Norfolk estate.

Palace aides were playing down speculation that Prince Philip had suffered a heart attack.

I wonder if the same treatment as prompt as that is available to the rest of the population?

Hippo,

Friend's mum in UK had a stroke - time to get to see a consultant 9 weeks! She was sent home with a flea in her ear... :(

Family member had a minor stroke here - time to get to see a consultant 1 hour and that's because that's how long it took us to get to the hospital with him...

We can all have a moan about the NHS and what it costs and how its run but I have total admiration for the paramedics ,....

A good friend and work colleague of mine had a massive heart attack on Thursday evening at 8.30pm two ambulances arrived and 4 paramedics fought for over 1 hour to save this very nice man.

He died that evening his family are devastated he was only 53 ,.............RIP Billy my friend.

Whether you are a royal or not you deserve the best available treatment.... Phil survived I wish him a speedy recovery.

Jovial John, Try this for an real insight.

The Murder Of Princess Diana, By Noel Botham.

The truth will come out but probably not in our life time.

Thank You babydoll for the compliment, I have known N.N. for over 20 years and in real life he is one of the most intelligent, straight speaking men I have ever known.

A very Happy Christmas to all and I hope the Duke makes a speedy recovery.

Never heard of the 'Voluntary' services such as Air Ambulances, Mountain Rescue, Lifeboats????

Never heard of NHS 'High Speed' Paramedic services?, on top of normal Paramedic services??

All there for you for free, even if you have been totally stupid and got lost on a mountain, stuffed your car while drunk, or suffered a heart attack at home.

They don't differentiate between Drunks, Royalty, Multi-millionaire Bankers, or the Homeless.

Remember, many of those people are Voluntary, risking their lives for yours 24/7!

I hope no-one on here needs such services, especially at Christmas, but they are there for all.

I wish everyone a happy and healthy Christmas.

Totally agree with message 4 .I am sure the Royals have insurance. And, you are mad if you live here and do not have medical insurance. I have a work permit, but it only entitles you to State treatment, bot very good for nursing care!

Once you live 'offshore' you are not legally entitled to a UK doctor or their services. I was born in the UK, lived/worked there for 30 years, paid my social, still pay my tax on UK earned income, but I am not treated like an immigrant if I were to return. I have private insurance, which costs a bomb, but worth every penny of it!!

Message 13. What makes you believe this author. You are very gullible if you do. From your previous posts you have appeared intelligent.

Jefferson, I have read several books on the subject, and this one is amazing, Also I do not think the detail and facts could have been put into print in non fiction book, if they are untrue.

I even met one lady last year who still thought that Harry was the son of Prince Charles.

Like i say well worth a read.

No I'm not intelligent, went to a sec. modern school, also I come from the Black Country. So I must be thick.

Can any man be certain that the child he loves is his. I think it rather crass that a man with children would cast doubts, unfounded doubts, on the paternity of any "son".

Merry Christmas johnnylee, to you and "yours"
