Just to let people know that the Thursday market held at Açmenya restaurant 11-3pm is still being hosted for free by the restaurant.

A few of the regular stallholders will be back from holiday this week, a couple will be away. There's still lots of room available for anyone who wants to join in to put their goods up for sale and make some money.

Tables are provided, you just need a tablecloth! Please come along around 10.30 to give youself time to set up, and ask for Nicky who will show you to a table.

The Açmenya is an ideal venue since if the weather is rough, the market will be held indoors; if sunny as it has been most Thursdays thankfully, it will be held outside in the paved grounds of the restaurant.

It is at Alsancak. coming from Kyrenia you will see The golden Lady (as she is fondly called) near the Sevener Restaurant. Bear left, and take the first left, and Acmenya is up on the right hand side. you can't miss it. Drive until you find it. Not far at all.

sorry I won't be there this week - Lefkosia and a kids party calls, . But have a cup of coffee for me out in the sunshine! (at least I hope!)

Hopefully the sun will be shining and if so, yes the market will be outside.

Sorry we won't see you this week Marion.

If you're a potential customer, please let all your friends and neighbours know about the market so that they too have the chance to come along to support the market and may be even pick up a bargain or two.

Some of the regular stalls include clothes, handmade jewellery, garden pottery and ornaments, cards, books, homewares, foodstuff (sweet and savoury), electrical home appliances, perfumes, gold jewellery and you can also sell your own gold jewellery to get some cash for yourself.

We also have a new stall joining us this week selling DVDs.

And of course there's the special lunch menu available from the restaurant itself and drinks from the bar.

It's definitely worth a look.

Thank to all the stallholders, new and regulars who came along to the market this week. It was nice to see some new faces.

Stalls are still free if anyone else is interested in joining us.

We just need more customers please???!!!

Please let your friends and neighbours know about this market, it is worth coming along for a Thursday lunch/afternoon to see what's on offer.

Some more new stalls this week apparently. Any more interested, you are very welcome. IT'S FREE!! tables are provided for you, and as much room as you need.

The message is obviously getting out to stall holders, there's been a good number of stalls there every week, and for the past few weeks the range of stalls have been different every week as new people join in and others have gone off on holiday. But there's sure to be lots more this week now that people are back from their Christmas holidays to join us again.

BUT, Customers ... we need more visitors and customers. Please help us to promote this relatively new market to keep it going. It may be getting colder but you'll always receive a warm welcome. Please tell all your friends and neighbours to come and take a look.

It's definitely worth having a walk out or driving down to the restaurant. On a sunny day we'll be outside and you can enjoy a stroll around, a drink, a meal or a chat with friends in the sun.

It really is worth a visit, folks, but having said that, once again I cannot go due to other commitments I have made. of courese if everyone comes up with an excuse, again you will be down on customers. And sorry that I could not get a report in the paper. as I can't find an e mail for you Pippie, I can't write and tell you why, but I DO hope that you generate some interest from here. Nice place to go if only to sit and drink coffee.

There you go, too many offers too good to miss out on!

If anyone ever wants to get me, pls e-mail cyprusjules@yahoo.com

DIECTIONS for anyone who's missed it before:

Driving Girne towards Lapta, at the Golden Lady statue on your left (also beside the old Astro Supermarket on your left), take the left fork then take the first left. The market is approx. 100yds on your right hand side (after the old Silk Way Restaurant).

And just to add that I'll also be back at the market at Acmenya restaurant again on Thursday. I'll be happy to buy any gold from anyone wanting to sell, and I still have lots of nice pieces for anyone looking to treat themselves - the range is still 27tl to 2000tl although some of the ones in between have now been sold.

The pieces I have are unique so it's best to buy when you see something you like because when it's gone, it's gone.

Thank you to all the people who turned up at the market yesterday (sorry you missed us Marion, the clouds were threatening and when it turned cold everyone thought better of it!).

Anyway, I have to post an apology!

Last Tuesday I said that we were expecting there to be lots more stallholders this week especially now that people are back from their Christmas holidays to join us alongside the new stallholders that we were joining us.

With regard to the returning stallholders I was wrong! It's next week. So apologies to the customers who came looking for particular stalls.

I am assured that next week at least the book man, the ladies evening wear and the hand painted pottery will all be back for you. We also had a couple who were getting married last Thursday who couldn't be with us so they will be back selling home made cakes and food next week.

Can't remember if I've missed anyone, no doubt I'll be reminded.

I'm told plans are under way for a 'Special' again next Thursday but I don't have details yet, I'll let you know.

But I can tell you that the promotion for the Flat Green Bowling Club seemed to be well appreciated by those who tried their hand at a little bowling this week (you missed that one Marion). They will be back again next week so why not come along and try your hand at bowls. It was great fun last week.
