Many buyers are still guarded about buying from China – which is understandable, since many of the country’s business practices lag behind those in more developed nations. However, your risks can be minimized by working only with qualified, above-board suppliers and by understanding all aspects of your import arrangement beforehand. If you can, visiting China is a good starting point for doing business there. If you can’t visit first, there are many online and print sources to help you find quality products and suppliers and minimize the risk of doing business there. 1、Understanding the market 2、Finding a trustworthy supplier 3、Factory visits and inspections 4、The shipping process 5、Compliance issues 6、Landing costs

I think if you want to import on a comercial basis you will need an import licence. You can only get an import licence fgrom the chamber of comerce. You can only become a member of the chamber if you have a limited company. It goes on and on and on.Forget it.T

Do bear in mind, and I speak from experience here, that having bought and imported from China you cannot get money refunded by Chinese companies if you have problems with what they have supplied. They will want to re-supply, cargo costs at your expense, but they will not refund money for faulty goods or anything else. Be aware as this could cost you dear. The import licence situation is not quite as indicated in message 2. You have to join the Chamber of Commerce, they do not issue import licences. Licences are issued by the Trade ministry of the government and are issued for each individual invoice - loads of aggravation. In addition, if you import electrical goods, a sample has to go to Kibtek for testing and they also have to issue an additional permit. Needless to say you have to pay for all of these permits as well as losing the will to live in too many government offices. Unless you think you stand to make sheds of money (unlikely) then don't bother!
