I certainly won't be rushing there to buy anything.

The last time I dealt with you I'd paid a deposit for the gazebo you fitted, only to be told that I hadn't paid it at all, so you promptly removed it from my garden (damaging the tiling in the process).

You then had the nerve to charge me to put it back!! Cheecky feckers!!

Message 2: I passed your comments on to Hasan (the director) who has responded as follows:

The gazebo was fitted in August 2009 after receiving a deposit. You said that you left the balance with your agent who was to pay us on the day of fitting. Almost 3 months later the balance was still outstanding and so, with due notice to yourself – the gazebo was removed.

When you finally paid the balance the gazebo was returned and fitted. We did charge an additional fee for fitting because of the extra work involved. With regards the tiles – you were informed that the tiles on your patio were internal bathroom tiles and not of the quality needed to support the fitting of a heavy wrought iron gazebo without cracking.

Re: msg 4.

This was your stated position at the time. Unfortunately it is not entirely correct.

The facts are as follows:

We paid a 50% deposit to have a gazebo and sail cloth cover fitted on the day we left the island.

We arranged, at the time, for our agent to pay the balance on completion of the work. This was agreed with your sales assistant. She wrote down the name and telephone number of our agent so she could contact him on completion so he could pay the balance.

You fitted the gazebo a week late and did not fit it with a sail cloth cover. You also broke a couple of tiles due to careless fitting. Instead of using anchor bolts, as would be usual, you bodged it with the usual bits of steel rod used in reinforced concrete. You also left welding splatter all over the adjecentt tiles.

Our agent went into your shop a day after you fitted the gazebo to complain about the lack of cover, the broken tiles and the welding mess. Your assistant denied ever having made the arragement ab

above and demanded full payment.

Although he tried to mediate and come to an arrangment, you entered my property (illegally) and removed the gazebo.

It was only after we agreed to your extortionate demands of paying an EXTRA £200 pounds that you refitted the gazebo in exactly the same slap dash fashion as before!!

You can dress this up any way you like but these are the facts. I'll leave it to the readers of this forum to decide for themselves. As far as I'm concerned the issue is closed. I'll leave it to you to have the last word.

What a shame this could not have been resolved amicably. In Botanica's favour I can honestly say that we have always received excellent service from them over a period of many years. In fact, they have always gone out of their way to resolve any problems we may have had.
