To be exact:

Mrs Prudence Jennifer LUNDIE

Welfare Officer. For services to the British community in Cyprus. MBE.

Congratulations Pru; you deserve it for all your work for the BRS, the Blood Bank and all the other less public good work you do.

Having just been looking at the generally less then inspiring list of recipients this one is very well deserved.

A super lady that works tirelessly behind the scenes for the common good.

Congratulations to Pru and a well done to whoever made the recommendation.

Sorry, my Address Book says (too late...) that I should have written Lundye instead of Lundie.

Also heard an Esentepe resident (MOD Police in Wootton Basset) was awarded the MBE. He and his wife retire here full time mid 2012. Well done to them both.

Do these honours mention that these people are in North Cyprus. If so, well done to them all for 'making' the UK recognise that the TRNC exists!!! Now surely they'll have to make it official.

A very deserving honour for such a hard working lady, well done Pru. Also for the gentleman in Esentepe, two honours in TRNC absolutely great.

I alway understood that you coulldnbot get an honour from ritain for serrving hereas we don't exist, so maybe the name of Cyprus is a bit o a cheaty way of doing iit. th gentleman is resident in U.K still, so would be eligible, and I guessifg Pfrue has an address in U.K that would be he same. But why dsn't they say North Cyprus/ Porbably beccause it still does snot exist. Clever way round it for Prue, but why not other folk here who have laoured ffor years for the good of the community - Margaret Ray of KAR,, other people on the BRS as they have been here a long time, and people like Maureen Hutchings wo with Tony her husband actually sttarted the blood donatioons, and have done much for tourism etc. But as she is now a citizen, I guess she may not be eligible, but Margaret is. Let's hope if Prue is a begining others can be nominated next year??? But who nominates?

Msg. 16 When Marion has been at it for as long as Pru has i.e. on the Committee since 1997 and then moved to welfare and Blood Donor co-ordinator after than, then I would agree with you.
