I'm very sorry that this is my last post this year...

The picture shows something very Dutch: this is what everybody eats on the evening of December 31. They are called "oliebollen" and "appelflappen" and the recipe is very old. Some people make so many of them that the whole family have to eat them several days into the New Year... Enjoy your evening - eating anything typical British tonight?

Am on my own for first time but made Italian recipe of chicken with wine, lemon & capers

with more wine ...fruit yoghurt... and now...whisky with honey! Tomorrow I will make venison

with root veg. peppers, and all family coming Mon. so have buffet prepared with Scottish smoked

salmon, turkey/ham/leek flan, pates etc. and great big sherry trifle with double cream, and loads more.

I hope you all have a Happy New Year, and am looking forward to coming out to Turtle Bay in March.

Ah, I forgot, champagne also!
