hi everyone, well tonight"s the night, we fly from stansted 22.00. and we need some last minute help, first when we arrive at ercan passport control do we ask for our passport to be stamped for 90 days ( l am returning for a quick visit to the U.K. in december. Mick however has a one way ticket. We will be applying for residency do we do this straight away). Also, friends have been kind enough to buy us a new laptop as a going away present, and we would e glad of any recommendations for getting setup on the internet . l know that the 90 day stamp was changing, but has that happened? Thanks for any help. Next time it will be from N. Cyprus Hooray!

firstly i have heard that the visa duration has been dropped to 30days but not exactly sure if this has happened yet, you cant say to passport control how many days you want they will just stamp it according to the visa rules

secondly if you are returning to the u.k in dec there is no point for you to apply for your resindcey because they take your passport and this process can take anything from 3 weeks to 8 weeks depending how busy they are the best bet is if your family are not planing in returning to the u.k in dec let them apply for the residency then when you get back from the u.k then you apply yourself for the residency

as for internet there around 3-4 internet providers for normal dial up superonline being the more established but i would reconmend not getting dial up so slowwwww!!!! better of getting broadband (adsl not fully operational yet) the company for this is extend ive provided you with a link to their website

I've been told via this site that it is normally a 30 day visa that is given but if you ask, they will stamp it for 90 days, they can only say no.

We're following you out on the 24th so all the best and let us know how you get on with the visa.

hi guys

im glad you can still be given a 90 days visa how stupid would that be allowing people who own houses in cyprus only be given them a month to enjoy their homes while contributing to the economy

in my case it is a bit diffrent i intially get a exit visa and produce this when i leave cyprus and this applies to a certain amount of months in a year until i get my full citizenship ship but first do my army or pay it off
