matt47r Thanks very much for that. Are you able to confirm please how often the MOT is? Our reg is FS, last done 2010 and I thought it was every 2 years, is it actually 3, and if so, is the emissions test every 3 years too? We are only able to come out two or three times a year and I'm terrified we miss the date...is it possible to get it done earlier the year its due, or do we have to stick to the two weeks that seem to be allowed....not sure how we are going to do that, arghhh ! Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you

The emissions test now runs concurrently with the MOT. We tried to have ours done earlier last time as we had family coming but they wouldn't let us, we had to have it done in that 2 week window. Maybe, someone can do it for you, not sure about fines for late testing. Also, as you know they're forever moving the goalposts !!!

I didn't realise there were set dates, I thought that whatever date was on the last certificate, count 3 yrs later and it would be due at that time again. According to the list, if mine was due this year it would be due in May but the date on my certificate of the last test is February. Could it be that the dates set could mean that you would run over the 3 year MOT period (in my case if it was due this year then I would be running over by 3 months!)?

So does that mean you would be facing a find for late registration, even though it is not your fault?

sorry I meant, in this case, would you be liable to a fine if you are over 3yrs from date of your last test, given that it is not your fault?

The document on the list shows two sets of dates. I have a CE suzuki Vitara - is that the list A or the one further down the page? If it is 'A' I am late - will I be Fined?
