Thank you to KAR for helping us to deal with the stray cats problem in Ozankoy. In the last few weeks you have taken around 15 cats for neutering in the Tropicana and The Bookshop area. Also a lovely dog. Well done and thank you for your prompt and helpful response to our cries for help. Watch this space while we try to raise some money for you.

Are'nt you so very lucky1, "lovely dog" rescued by KAR! Pity that they could not help a very big boisterous dog yesterday! Perhaps KAR have a post code type lottery here to select which dog to "rescue" They certainly will not be receiving any further donations fro me or my neighbours! Mind you the man with the shovel was not a fan anyway!!!

Cocklebay - you have had your say/whinge/moan on your own thread - why are you trying to highjack this one with the same whinge/moan ?

Message 1 and 2, and all you other KAR supporters or genuine members who know that KAR have helped you in the past - maybe we should all start putting threads on this board for the positive things that KAR have done. It will cheer their many hard working staff/volunteers who rarely get any recognition or thanks for the good work that they do do. I know they get so depressed and demoralised when all they see on here is damning, scathing remarks by some of the members on here.

Cleos what a shame it is that the 1000's of ANIMALS who have had their lives transformed for the better by KAR work and efforts can not post here.

Not whinging/moaning etc!. Just noted that your stray was helped ours was not. However any of our donations etc will go to charities that support human beings, less emotive than cuddly puppies and kittens!

You will see in the original post that that Zanky states that over the past 'few weeks' KAR have helped out with a number of cats and a dog. Maybe at this particular time KAR had the space to take in another dog. To accuse them of operating a postcode lottery is faintly ridiculous.

Why faintly ridiculous? Perhaps very true! Perhaps a photo of the last street dogs body may convince you! Grrrr!

Cocklebay,

I am not sure where you live but you are right. We live on the back of the mountian facing Lefkosa, in the past i have been told by KAR they don't help animals in our area.

Hence thats why we don't give them any funds.

What we do is help and feed animals outside the village and surrounding villages. We also give food to our more hard up neighbours for their dogs. The times i am dragged out of bed, for help with a sick dog, when all the vets are sleeping!!

Maybe you and your neighbours could start something similar in your area? Or there is another rescue center in Lefkosa you could donate to, if you want to do your bit.

This already happens here, including giving clothing etc to our neighbours. Whenever we have dogs visiting all over the locals rally round and worry about them. However the dog in question was becoming a real problem including knocking over one of are more vulnerable neighbours, playful yes but manageble no!

We did do our bit re KAR, we have 3 rescue dogs and a cat!, and have helped in the past re street dogs.

But this help has now ceased and our donations will now go to another of the many worthy charities that exsist in the KKTC.

Thanks for the help and advice!
