"During Ottoman times two large 'Khans' (Han or Inn) were built in in the centre of old Nicosia and they give the town a certain oriental air. The smaller of the two is now called the "Gamblers' Inn" (Kumarcilar or Kumarjilar Khan or Han); Jeffery (1918) however mentions the name of this han as "Kiumachela", the "Khan of the itinerant musicians".

Hans. I recently walked up through the village of Dogankoy and made a left turn onto a rough path which took me back to the Bellapais road, on entering the path I came across a building that looked as though it had been a kiln, to you know anything about it? I have pictures but don't know how to post on here.

@ msg 4, Woodspeckie: Can you email me one or more pictures? It may make it easier to recognise the building.

@ msg 7, carolhm: Can you describe the ruin? A building with windows? A dome? The shape? Very close to the sea? Near a (small) bay? Or other details? And if you know how to do it: can you give the Google coordinates?
