| We got road tax last week and it is definitely up.
Was 760tl last year this year 883tl We have had the car for 7 years now so soon road tax will be more than the car is worth!

| Msg. 9. Why do you try to perpetuate this myth, Foreigners have to purchase residencies regardless of age. Unless they have a work permit that is. The Government want the money and they make a fortune out of the over 60's. |

| Message 10: no myth. There was a surprising statement from the government, published in the newspapers here quite recently, confirming this. The spokesman, when asked whether this was a change to the current regulations, clearly stated that it had never been necessary to have residency at any age over 60. I have known this for several years now, having been told by the immigration department. The fact remains however that, if left largely unpublicised, the government make a fortune out of annual residency fees paid by the mostly retired foreign population here. |
