Heard a rumour on the street that Richard Currie and Hal no longer work for Cheshire home ???. Has anyone seen or heard anything about the money from the September concerts we went to ??? and all the other pots we put cash into ???

Mike , Cheshire Homes are a registered charity and no doubt will have audited accounts of all fund raising events which must be publicly available. I am confident that if you were to approach them directly they would be able to answer your questions. However, please let us all know the answers ! regards Barry

Yes, it would be interesting to know how much was raised for such a good cause, the amphitheatre was packed for the Bohemians concert and I understand they are supposed to be playing here again on 28th April.

Be patient. The matter is being finalised and figures should be revealed soon (so I heard). But definitely Richard and Hal walked away from the sub committee that was responsible for Festival 11. They are now a committee with Tony Woods for Festival 12.

But please don't bother the Home at the moment, as the matter is not yet finalised.

Isnt it wonderful how people always "heard" things, surely facts and figures are whats needed here, how long does it take to count the money and deduct the expenses and let folks know the figure then everyone will be happy bunnies pleaseeeeee

Surely you can expect it's going to take a while, after all there were 3500 at the ampitheatre alone. But yes four months is pushing it a bit. Does anyone know who won the two aeroplane tickets that were up for grabs?

I bought tickets for both concert's and i would estimate close to 6500 people over the 2 nights, now you can multiply that by the price of the ticket, the Queen tribute band concert was a packed house, more than 3000 people,my estimate is around 150000 TL in ticket sale's,great little earner ! or ?

Well i am so very very shocked that no one from this charity has responded to this thread. Oh yes they are so very quick to come on this forum when they are looking to fill their coffers and like mugz we all dig deep, well this time this charity has really weed on their chips,i for one will never be attending another of their charity concerts or giving my hard earned money to any cause they represent in the future.

It should not take all this time to let us know how much the weekend raised, maybe they are to shy to announce the final count or too drunk !

I've been told today that the newspaper's have also picked up on this, exciting days ahead.

To throw something else from what has been heard on the street into the mix, its being widely said that claims are now being made that there was a maximum of 1800 people at the concerts and thy will be lucky to break even, [yes I believe in fairies] and there was double selling of tickets or something like that going on, I sincerely hope this is not yet another scam about to be uncovered ! or even covered up !

Well i was just having a cup of tea with my friend from next door and we was talking about the concert last year.

She,my friend told me that there was some Controversy a few year's ago regarding one of these men that are involved in this charity.

It was to do with two old people they befriended here in cyprus and alot of money was involved,a very lot of money in fact, bloody hell im really in shock now after my friend telling me of all this carry on. And it was reported about in the cyprus newspaper.

My husband used to say,"THERES NO FIRE WITHOUT SMOKE" god bless him.

No battered old jeep. Saw Richard Currie in a Ford Focus shortly after the Disability Knows No Borders Concert.

Maybe a "Beamer" is on the cards. Watch this space.

▶ More Coronation Street and other soap rubbish. THE COURT DECIDED THEY WERE NOT GUILTY.

You should be ashamed of yourself for repeating on this board your tea-friends gossip - as in another thread: without any proof. Bah.

Whatever the truth is of anything, and as I said above, cheshire home is about to finalise the accounts and let people know the reality of the monies from last year. also I would like to point out that it was not the cheshire Home itself that organised the Festival, but a sub committee which volunteered to do this fund raising series of events. And to Hans, ' you should realise this place rumours go on and on, and of course, the couple were found not guilty but mainly because there was no supporting evidence for the claims of the lady in question. Proof is often very difficult to come by and in all cases (in U.K anyway) without evidence there can be no conviction. That is why these days there are so many cold cases because of the way that forensics have moved on. Howeve,r lack of written evidence can be a huge decider. But I am sure many of us are really getting impatient to hear about the results of the Festival 11, or else I fear Festival 12 may be tainted before it even begins.

The current trend of posters making outrageous claims backed-up by nothing more than gossip and hearsay will be the death of this board if not addressed soon.

Posts 8 and 13 are to say the least not acceptable in terms of board etiquette. I'm not being precious, I'm just really just disappointed that some people are inclined to stoop so low.

I'm all for robust discussion but this is not that and the sooner such practices are ceased by whatever means is necessary the better.

Otherwise the board should shut up shop ASAP.

How about this prediction then, it is my belief that there will have been very little money raised after *expenses* have been deducted, despite the *massive success of the venture*

I shall wait to fall on my sword

Rumour, gossip and more rumour and perhaps the odd innuendo, but not a tangible fact in sight.

Thought you might like to know that wearing my journalistic hat I wrote to Richard Currie re Festival 11 and subsequently wrote again to both Richard, Hal and Tony (the committee for Festival 12). Unfortunately I have have no responses whatsoever - not even an acknowledgement - from Richard and Hal, and just a note from ~tony because he has been a bit unwell. Of course Richard and Hal may have been very busy, - I do not know why they didn't answer. Like the rest of you, I had hoped that something could go in print. So I am now waiting to hear officially from the Home when they have had meetings to produce final figures.

Until then - it is all conjecture.

What I fail to understand is how can people of such 'shall we say' dubious character even be contemplated to be allowed to be on a committee or sub committee wher they have direct access to cash with no proper controls, or are they so smart and everybody else so stupid that they can sweet talk their way into these positions unchallenged.

The Lynch mob are testing the rope and have already done the jury ,judge and executioner bit.....happy days for them ! Funny, I may be old fashioned but, I like the justice system to be independent of the accusers.

EamonnMc I acknowledge what you are saying, however it is an unfortunate 'FACT' that there have been several scams here involving charity money and it would seam that very little is ever done about the perpetrators, I and I am sure others can name them as well, do you think it is unfair of decent honest people here to want answers as to how much was raised after over four months waiting ?? and unfortunately the justice system here is fallible

And I will still wager that the home declare they didn't make much if anything at all, which will beg the question where has the money gone and why did the home not have more control over the collections of cash, after all it was under their banner.

By the way I was also at both Bex Marshall and the Bohemians concerts and I agree with Teatime my guesstimate was at most two or three hundred at Bex and a good 2700 for the Bohemians so around 3000
