There is a reliable company here that will factory unlock your iphone for you and then you wont have to worry about update your software and the unreliable gevey sim.



Currently your iphone 4 is able to be jailbroken and unlocked on teh 5.0.1 version software but only if you are familiar with this. Otherwise I would suggest a factory unlock.



If you want more details I can let you have them.

No Dutchcrusader if your phone develops a fault then all you do is restore it to its normal state if you cant do this and the phone does not power up then Apple wont know that its jailbroken. I have had phones replaced under warranty three times on both the methods.



If its an iphone 4 that its probably coming to the end of its year warranty anyway as the new one has beed released. Unfortunately Apple refuse to be flexible on unlocking phones which is the reason people will turn to jailbreaking.



They still have the option of getting it factory unlocked here on the island which wont void the warranty.

A bit of info, in the US a judge ruled against Apple voiding the warranty if the use jailbroke their iphone and Apple still refuses to honour the warranty. Very arrogant if you ask me.

I won't do it - the main reason being that I don't want the risk of software outside Apple's control.

After using the Cydia app installer on a jailbroken iDevice - when will we read about the first app(s) with malware..?!

Dutchcrusader these myths have been put out to scare people from Jailbreaking I have had iphones since they first came out all those years ago and every single one has been jailbroken. Not saying I havent had problems but nothing that could not be rectified as its only software. Believe it or not Apples software is not that great and thousands of people have problems without even jailbreaking them. Android phones on the other hand allow you to do want you want to them ie root them (jailbreak) and these people have very little problems. Apple unfortunately is obsessed with control and what you put on your iphone should be your own business not theirs. Just like you can load whatever software you like on your PC or Mac then I believe the same rule should apply to iphones.



With regards to Malware its already out there on the Macs but Apple wont admit to it. The reason why it hasnt happened before is that Windows is more widely used than the Mac OS so it will effect more people.

Ataturk; i can not unlock due to bandwidth 04.10.01 ... unlock isnt available just yet! If you know for sure there are reliable agents who can do a factory unlock then by all means please let me know.. I have tried almost everything else... Jailbreak's fine its the carrier unlock that seems impossible at the moment.
