Revenue Stamps for Renewal of Temporary Residence

Please could someone clarify if we need to take residence stamps for renewal of Temporay Residence? It reads unclear to me on the BRS web site.

Only when you go to Immigration in Lefkosa. You can buy them in the coffee shop there. Dont give them at the police station.

You can use ordinary postage stamps too for the correct value or you certainly could.

They should be the government stamps not ordinary stamps and the guy at Lefkosia Immigration sells them but you pay 1TL over the odds... a small price if you cannot be bothered to go to a PO.

We've always gone to the post office in Lapta and asked for stamps for renewal,never had a problem!

A couple of years ago we used all our spare stamps, not used at Christmas, for our residency renewal. No probs. whatsoever.

While on the subject, does anyone know if immigration at Girne Police station will be open after Tuesday? Need to renew our residency this week. Thank you
