I have asked numerous times , is there anyway we can get an "edit post" option, how difficult can it be ?. Sometimes we write something or make a stupid typo that one letter or word can make a difference. We cant go back and edit it. I am sure a lot of members would agree with me, after posting they may think twice about what they posted and have no option to change it. All other boards have this feature. I don't want to get suspended by one of the numerous moderators because I may have posted something in anger and wished I could take it back. Please answer this time.

I have not seen a single board where you cant do that, now I wish I had not asked, but I cant take it back. So deal with it and the clock think too.

I believe the issue here is with the database used by Izzet which I think is Access. When this forum was set up it was expected to be just a small add on to the help and advice system for advertisers etc. However due to the success of the forum it has out grown the database facilities. Most of the other forums now use the PHP set up which is a proprietary "forum" system with all of the edit facilities built in. For Izzett to make changes to the current system would be a big task. I am sure that he would gladly change the current data base and or move to PHP if some one has the time and ability to help. Also, if you move to PHP I would imagine the task of moving across all the existing posts would not be possible. That is my view on subject from previous comments about this topic. Of course I stand to be corrected!

Can you guys get serious for once, I am asking a serious question. Quit the crap and let this be addressed before it goes way off topic like most of the other threads. Stay on topic or go and sabotage someone else's postings . I usually try and stay serious and on topic and I don't mess around, so please respect that. Izzet this is a very popular board ,all other boards do ugrades all the time to make it easier for the users. Seems like you just want to let it be the way it is. I don't see any typos with the advertisers. Harlequin I don't think you made an error when you said "Impotent , abel , fux and udders" huh? wow food for thought. I am just trying to make it easier for all of us. We now have enough moderators to not notice this posting, incase Izzet misses it please point it out to him.

I have given you a sensible answer, what is wrong with what I have written, I am sure most will understand until Izzet gets around to reading the forum which I know he does not always get chance to do so. That is why he has appointed moderators. May be as it is only 0900 here here has yet to start work.

I think the database was moved to SQL a few weeks ago, as we had a bit of downtime.

Cyprusishome, I think we were posting simultaneously thats why I missed your posting. It makes sense now that someone has explained. I have asked before and never gotten a response, I dont want to email him becuase I thnk others maybe interested to know also. I guess its easy if you're not dyslexic and have to read and re-read your posting over and over so you don't make a mistake , we know how "friendly" some members can be. thanks for the repsonses.

Sorry Turbo, I only spotted the times after I posted. As for errors I do not bother checking too much with spelling however as above it is so easy to post a word, or a posting for that matter out of place and a war starts!!! LOL That said, the above suggestion of e-mail will probably get you an answer quicker if you want a definitve. Form Izzets postings over last few months I get the impression he wants to draw back from forum because of the workload. hence the squad of mods.

As a matter of interest Turbo, I see you sometimes use U.S. English i.e. 'gotten' (Not that this is a fault, of course!) as I think you have connections there.

If I was patient and took the time I would prepare before I posted in a word document to check grammar and spelling - then transfer it to a text editor (to lose the format) - copy and paste here and then format my message. It would be excelent to have an editor as others and I have said elsewhere but maybe we need to take a moment before we send each posting?
