I would recommend Ambiance, had two nice steaks in their, or the Stone Grill, where you can cook your own.

| Nige- We started eating at the San Tropez when it was first opened in either 1990 or 91 never had a bad meal, the service was a bit over attentive but certainly not poo. The bill in those days was less than a four quid a head, a bit different to today, we stopped going in 2005 when the bill was silly money, I cannot remember exactly how much but enough to stop us going there anymore. | The best steak had by our family was at Cousins Brasserie in Edremit (signposted from Bells Cash and Carry). We have tried numerous others but Cousins are definitely the best. We live near Tatlisu and although it's quite a long way, the trip has always been well worth it. |

I still have not found a place in UK or TRNC that can cook a steak, they all think a 1/4inch thick piece of over cooked chewy piece of meat is a steak. Try a nice 2 inch thick filet or prime rib or porterhouse ,nice medium rare not bloody but pink, and juicy. Talking about mortgaging your home for a steak, try a kobe beef steak, the cows are actually fed on beer and are massaged daily to get the marbling just right. Here is a nice juicy one to share: only $200+ http://www.kobe-beef.com/ http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/pan-seared-t-bone-steak-recipe/index.html

Turbo the chef at Errols in Ozankoy can cook a fantastic rare or medium rare fillet and I think it's worth the drive from Karsiyaka. I have also had plenty of great fillet steaks in the UK too cooked perfectly medium rare. Maybe you've just been unlucky.

without any doubt: Everebody tries to sell his restaurant as the best BUT: Best Steaks in TRNC with best side dishes in peacefull an cossy ambient. The Verandah in karaoklanolu opposite University junction. Forget all others and saint tropez (society prices for normal dishes). never heard even the names of the other restaurants. do they still have the same chef? they change owners like underwear.. "peace to eat your steak? Or a piece of steak? " verandah gives you both 20 years same management same chef - nothing going wrong here. ok, to be honest, there are a few other good restaurants around like the lagoon or jashans.. but....
