It looks like we are a week or so away from parity with Pound to Euro. That will make it 30 pounds for one months car insurence for a jeep on the Greek side and will not be worthwhile doing a shopping trip over there! Tony

Peter Steinbruck, the German Finance minister, described Britains switch from financial prudence to heavy borrowing as crass and breathtaking. He citicised the decison to cut vat. He said "All this will do is raise Britains debt to a level that will take a whole generation to work off"

All this talk about the UK adopting the Euro by the backdoor is just idle gossip. Our leader has stated that to join, the Economy has to pass the 5 crucial tests and then, and only then, will he see the plan put into place. This was part of the Labour manifesto and as we all know they cannot go back on their promise and word to the nation. By the way the Irish are being allowed a second vote on whether to sign up to the EUs new constitution.

This government and its successers have never had any money, well not of their own.All they have is the tax revenue and stealth tax revenues that they screw the backbone of the country ie. the employers and the employees, then they distribute part of this to the jobless, the workshy , the get pregnant, get flat, keep druggie boyfriend, get pregnant again, get bigger flat brigade. The rest is thrown at the NHS,Schools and the formation of such good causes as the "euro dilexic one legged third world lesbian society"(no disrespect to lesbians) by corrupt, inept, brain donor neanderthals .Then when the pot is empty run to the IMF for a loan cos lets face it by the time it comes to pay back time the government in power at the time of the loan wont be there to pick up the tab. Now this has happened for years but i gotta say this current piece of flotsom is a real work of art,we are currently in so much debt that a meteorite will wipe out the debt long before any future government does!!

So what do you suggest? Cameron? Obama calls him a "lightweight" which is better than I would say. History provides a precedent. Gordon may just be right but time will tell. If not, well, north of the border we may just decide to "ring our own tills"
