Can anyone suggest how we go about checking/querying our electricity bills. Do we need to go to the Girne office and is there anyone who can speak English. Do plan to learn Turkish and know a few words but nothing that could explain our enquiry. Our bills seem to vary wildly and do not bear any relation to what is used eg our bill is exactly the same as our neighbours yet we have stayed at our place for a few weeks during the same period and their place has been empty.

I would suggest you go to the office. English is spoken, seems strange your bills are the same?

Also check what tariff you are on, (on right hand side of bill), Normal tariff is 2, 1 is 2-3 times the cost.

If your bill is the same as your neighbours and his place has been empty surely he is the one who should query his bill. Sounds to me as if you are better off or am I missing something??

thanks to all for the info, will go tothe office when next visit and will check the tarrif too. Our neighbour is going to sell up so is probably not that worried at the mo. it was more the fact that our bills varied so much I wanted to get a handle on what we were paying for.
thanks again to you all - bye for now
