Unbelievable, 2 meals, 2 drinks for £9.99 offer in the UK. Nothing even comes close in North Cyprus. More information at http://www.consumerpressuregroup.com/sizzling-pubs-main-pudding-4.95-expires-2712012/

If you are only interested in cheap food and drink maybe you should stay in the uk.Most of these 2 for 2 offers are in the larger outlets where the buying power is better you cannot expect a small outlet to compete.I personally would prefer a nice meal and drink at a FAIR price served with polite well trained staff. The advantage the restaurants have here is they have cheap labour but seem not to understand or want to customer needs.they are not hands on and are in the main not qualified to run the outlets they own.

Cavalryman, I don't agree that someone should abandon living here just because it's cheaper to eat and drink at home but if you read the link it's about a few dozen pubs in the UK getting together and offering attractive prices in these hard times. It's about retailers working together for survival which personally I believe would be a good idea considering the number of North Cyprus restaurant/bars that go out of business each year. The crown carvery deal is equally good and shows that businesses are beginning to realise that we don't have as much money to spend nowadays. I still believe there are lessons for North Cyprus businesses to learn and as for the idea of paying more than you have to, that's a rich wo/man's luxury and not an option for most of us pensioners!

to make this pricing structure attractive you need a high footfall of customers through your restaurant

the restaurants in Cyprus dont have this luxury and would be unable to make this pay

the TRNC has way to many restaurants, bars, cafe outlets per head of population...and very few are busy, yet many people looking to start a business think,"I know lets start another restaurant"...very odd..

The Mambo Bar is good value for money and the meals are good and wholesome, they were doing a special offer on two meals for a price but not sure if that is still operating.

Supersnooper as I stated in my post there are no pub companies here so no bulk buying no companies with multi outlets no staff training no trained managers just a hotch potch of people who think then know it all. They open without doing ANY real research whether its viable or not, if they are local they just do not pay their bills fold and do something else.

supersnooper I support cavalryman's views, it is not clever to drive the local hoteliers to the wire by praising and encouraging the "how cheap can you get it" mentality. With no Wholesales on the island they are buying raw materials at about the same price as supermarket customers do, and just existing, and still do a good job for f*** all margin.

Far better to praise value for money through quality meals and good service, not to make bets on how cheap you can get a meal.
