Are you sure you measured it correctly? Sometimes the digital voltmeters can go mad. If true, this is a very dangerous situation. I have known Kib-tek adjust their transformers output up to 260 volts but never over that. So in this instance it must be a fault due to a bad neutral connection down the line.

You should consider buying one of those "Elko Voltage Protectors" which is only 100 TL

I have one of your 'Elko Voltage Protectors' which I have set at my maximum of 255 volts. Once it got over 255 volts it did not trip the RCD, but just flashes at what the over voltage is. At the moment it is showing 262 volts ac on your relay.

Windy,

That means that your RCD is a late tripper and it burned off the resistance in it. Please send it to me to Famagusta by Virgo-trans and I will fix it free of charge and put in a new resistance with a higher wattage to cater for your RCD. Please write your name and telephone number on it as well and give me a ring.

Elko,Would it not be easier for Windy to exchange it at one of your selling agents instead of waiting for transport to you and back again?

Rigsby,

I thought of that too but I want to put in a new resistance with a higher wattage to cater for his RCD. Otherwise that is an option fine by me.

Bigwheel,

Normally I set the high limit at 258 volts and the low limit at 175 volts. You can reset it as described on my web page. Once its over the set limits it will flash even if it does not trip the RCD. I am sure the calibration is not impaired in any way. Simply send it to me from Girne to Famagusta by Virgo-Trans Dolmus and I will fix it and send it back free of charge with a higher rating resistance so that it will be harder to burn out next time. You pay for sending it and I will pay for sending it back. I think Virgo charges 2 or 3 TL. Simply send to: Ismet Ustuner and also write the senders name and telephone number and then give me a ring (0533 862 9150).

Please give it to Virgo first and then give me a ring, not the other way round

PS: for Virgo Trans walk from the Colony towards the municipality and in is on your left.

Many thanks for your offer Elko. I will send it to you tomorrow. Incidentally, it was registering 265 volts ac at 7.00.a.m. but has now at 8.30 .a.m. stabalised at 235 volts ac

Anything over 258 volts can be really damaging. You better shut off all your appliances and watch the voltage until it goes below this limit.

Those who have Elko Voltage Protector that trips the RCD, you can monitor the voltage by connecting the Protector to an unearthed plug. That means no earth, no trip.
