Spider, jackanory jackanory- you know it was really c..p-well maybe not for the first night. Those who I feel really sorry for, sold their generators. I can hear them now 'the days of power cuts are over. live like we used to do bed with the sun get up with the sun, a generator is an abuse of the beauty of silence. you will not sell that nobody wants one etc etc etc. To me the best sound on a dark dark night is the hum of a motor and corrie on the box.

actualy Hippo,I strongly dissagree with your comments regarding your above comments/thoughts. Ihave watched families drifting apart, day in day out, over the last few years because of the so called technology. In todays 'normal' way of family life, parents go to work, kids go to school, they come back home and if lucky enough they sit on same table to have dinner. Then all in their own rooms for the rest of the evening,if at home.Parents'd feel chuffed if kids pop their head out their room to say 'nite',or if they come out to grab a biscuit or 2 and ask parents how thier day was. Evidently enough,I was on my own at home last night so I went to nieghbours,we sat and TALKED/CHATTED for 3-4 hours, discovered John's harmonica skills. Had my wife been here with me,don't think I could've wished for better evening. SADLY THE LIKES OF ME ARE IN VAST MINORITY.The so called human society is in shumbles.

He replied No this is more peaceful, well I just laughed and said '' I guess it is ''. Spider,X |

msg 7; I guess being a Brit, you wouldn't know what it's like to satand up for yourself. I don't agree with what el-sen has been doing since it's effected all population, inc. elderly and little babies. However,it is more wrong for the 'government' to allow it.Even more wrong for cheapstakes for wanting to live here, like yourself.

yorg, I understand the comment about being a Brit, but please don't class the whole race unless you know them all. There are many that your comment applies to but more that it will only alienate as they do not fall under that general heading. However, I also understand the anger behind the statement and still like you - hard luck. I am with you over the electric (el-sen?) and consider that if they were organised enough and wanted to make their protest felt by the government then they should have targeted the government only. With current technology it would have been a simple thing to "failed" the power supplies to government buildings only and it would have achieved the same result. What they have done by targeting everyone is put the people against them (in the main) instead of having them on their side. The miners did it in the UK and suffered as one example but it seems like every Union will try the same route before they fail. Sad.
