I have just this minute spoken to someone at Kibtec, to report my total loss of electricity and was told "We are not working today". I asked about tomorrow and she said she did not know. At least the phones are back working, that is a step in the right direction and of course the internet is back.

It would help if you told us where you are located!

Sorry I am staying with a friend in Alsancak they had power during the night but not now. I cannot believe the workers or government would leave them without power because the kibtec workers are not working today.

I have heard that there is a technical problem at Kibtek power plant. Indeed, there is no smoke coming from the Alagadi power plant 'chimneys'. We have been on generator through the night and we still are in Esentepe.

So is the government sending in workers? does this mean no electric for two days. It is difficult to plan not knowing, and even more difficult to plan when the storyh changes by the hour.

After reading 'Wanderers' thread 'Strike news from cyprus mail' and the Cyprus Mail article, how humbled we should all be and spare a thought for the HOSPITALS who have been without power, how could they not supply the HOSPITALS for goodness sake???!!!!!!!! Many people have said in past threads how sympathy would be lost for this strike, for sure it should be on reading this article!!!
