Why are people more concerned about cock fighting or the wages of footballers than the problems of homes in north cyprus?

I have posted a thread - positive action on housing and it gets 5 posts (3 from me). This linked to the diabolical number that turned out at HBPG meeting seems to me that despite all the whinging and moaning nobody is prepared to fight "THE SYSTEM"!

You are right CIH,

But take a look at the threads. How many are actually even about Cyprus let alone the problems concerning house purchases?

Unfortunately this forum is fast becoming a general chit -chat type forum with everything but Cyprus being discussed.

they'l learn, as my old grandad used to say......

There is going to be one almighty bang in the not too distant...

Luckily most of the Brits won't hear it, as they still have their heads burried in the sand.....

Nick, I think people are aware there will possibly be a "Big Bang" but view the fact that there's nothing they can do about it.

CIH

I have found that most of us Brits talk a good game but are low on action.

I co organised a local event a couple of years ago, with regard to a very serious local health issue. Lots of people said they would come, were passionate about the cause, but in reality, only a trickle turned up.

My problem is that I spend most of my time in the UK, so I am not on the ground in cyprus. If we had enough notice, (I guess two/three months) perhaps those of us residing in the UK could come over together as a group. We could prepare our slogans and speeches on the plane. 'Power to the People'

Mark,

I do not think it matters where you it is the effort that is put in to it.

Been through all the stuff as you say organising and then things suddenly crop up!!!!!!!!

Even if nothing does come of this "shouting" directly there may be enough noise made for others to start listening and may be which ever government minister gets the feed back he will know that at least some of us are strting to get a bit AAAAARRGGGHHHH about the issues.

no1doyen there is going to be a big bang. Make no mistake about it. And there is always something we can do instead of sitting on our arses and moaning that nothing it going to work.

Total agreement.

Anyone with property and or legal dealings in TRNC should sign this petition.

For some time, it has been common practice on the 'Villa Owners' board to add

'Do not buy property in TRNC until the Specific Performance Law is repealed'

to the bottom of every post, as a 'signature'

I would suggest going one step further, as most people have no idea what the specific performance law is actually about...

Use the text quoted above, but add - 'If you don't know what the Specific Performance Law is, please ask me!' - followed by the link to the petition.

Has anyone any critcism or further suggestions? - feel free!

Keith.
