Hi all,

Can anybody supply a sequence of events for the supper tomorrow? Times, order of supper, speakers etc. See you all there.

I am not sure if you mean the order of a traditional Burn's Supper but it would start with the Selkirk Grace followed by the soup (cock-a-leekie) then the haggis is piped or clapped in, everyone stands as the haggis is taken to the table, "Poosie Nancy" and the person addressing the haggis then raise a dram and toast the haggis, Poosie Nancy retreats. The haggis is addressed and served, followed by the rest of the "Bill o Fayre".

If desired the Loyal Toast is then proposed and a short "comfort break" follows before the immortal memory is given. This is followed by the Toast to the Lassies and then the Reply. Usually, Tam O'Shanter and Holy Willies Prayer are next followed by a vote of thanks to the speakers. Another break. The lighter entertainment - songs music follows. The whole evening would end with Auld Lang Syne and possibly The Star o' Rabbie Burns. Still in Scotland at the moment, coming back next week - have a great night.

Thanks Alastiar,

I was actually looking for an evening specific program for the supper tonight. I do appreciate you taking the time to give a detailed reply though. I've been to a few as was Black Watch for a number of years as as the RSM addressed the haggis on a number of occassions.

Thanks again. My question wasn't clear and you've refreshed my memory on the evening and whetted my appetite for I hope will be a great evening.

Yours Aye,

Arthur
