Sorry it's been a while.

Our Interpreter Yasin spoke with Ismail's dad Cemal yesterday. We were hoping 3 weeks ago to have sent Ismail to istanbul for further tests .unfortunately Ismail was unwell and has spent the last 3 weeks in hospital in Hati

Due to his low blood count he has been given 3 units of blood, he now has a virus which could have come from the hospital or from the blood.

They are hoping to get him to either Ankara or Istanbul shortly. We are in a position to finance this and still retain the Bone Marrow fund.

But now there is a problem with travel due to weather, severe snow.

It is a really an awkward time for the family due to Cemal, (Ismail's dad) having to work very very long hours in Cyprus and his wife Fatma and 3 young children being in Hati .

Ismail is one brave little lad who is certainly having more than his fair share of pain and trauma.

Once again thank you to everyone who is supporting Ismail. You have given this family hope.

Lee,

Thanks for the update, it's seems that it will be a long and arduous road for little Ismail. It is a worrying time for all who care about him. Our thoughts are with him and his family.

Please tell me that the Cheshire Home is not still taking a percentage of the money raised for Ismail. I also note that the statement that was going to be made on Wednesday, by Cheshire Home has , has not appeared.

Radio Angel, No do not fear. This ceased around Sept. 2010.

I was not as green as I am cabbage looking. But this is what made the two men in question turn on me and do alot of damage to ismail's appeal.

Please note, as I mentioned in another topic. I found most of the people at Chesire Homes to be good people.

But I know for a fact that the commitee were not told the truth about me no longer being involved with them.

I have a newspaper article somewhere stating that the moneys I gave them are LODGED with them for Ismail's new arm.

Maybe they would like to UNLODGE it because we could really use it for his travel etc. as I explained at the time to Richard.

What is the point of me giving you Ismails New Arm Fund. Now he has cancer.

IE. Lets beat the Cancer we can sort the arm later. I thought this made sense.

I am going off topic so lets put it back on, sorry my fault. Any money raised for Ismail goes to Ismail.

Lee,

Your integrity is not in question. From what you say, it's a pity the same can't be said about others. Keep up the good work, it's very worthwhile and is paying dividends.

Re Message 5. Do you mean that Cheshire Homes is still holding funds for Ismail, that they are not releasing, even though Ismail is critically ill, and may not even survive to use that arm if he does not get the treatment he needs NOW ? If this is so, who decided this and why ?

This poor family is suffering so much. They are, however, very lucky to know that they are not alone, that there are lovely people who care about them and will do their best to alleviate their suffering.

Who cares about an arm when the child is fighting for his life? His poor parents must be so frightened and worried.

I wish we could do more for them.

Hi Lee,

Since we ceased working together on the Ismail project I have not kept fully up to date with your good efforts on his behalf, and as you may have read I am involved in trying to unravel the financial mess left behind in the wake of Festival-11.

If I remember correctly, Richard Currie "franchised" you the name of Cheshire Home for 20% of the moneys raised, this legitimised your fund raising events and so helped both organisations in the end.

Correct me if I am wrong and it was a while ago, but I don't remember any moneys being lodged with Cheshire Home as such, was not the remainder of the fund used outside of the Home's activities in helping Ismail with his fight?

Best Regards

Yes Tony you are quite correct and we had no objection whatsoever in paying the 20 %, but it was Richard If I recall who used the phrase lodged.

Yes the rest of Ismails fund was and is used outside C.H. actiivities. (We had no choice it was left to Yasin and myself to deal with the entire situation). With Ismail and his family stranded in Turkey.

I wish you luck with sorting out the current situation. I know from working closely with you, that with your integrity and professionlism you will hopefully be able to get things right. I don't envy you.

Good Luck and Kind Regards Lee.

Thank you Lee,

You will appreciate that I need a year's franchise on pencil lead and calculator batteries to sort this one !

I think it would perhaps be useful to our viewers to suggest that Cheshire Home did not in any way abandon Ismail. Shall we say that as different skills were required to sort the present problem, it was more a strategic decision that the source of these skills lay elsewhere ?

Having been heavily involved with Ismails plight from the start and very touched by the support given by ALL especially Lee and Jan Hickens, and find any kind of financial trading within "Charities" quite alarming ! Do I understand from the last few posts that Johnny Lee was under the impression that the 20% commission taken by "Cheshire Homes" was held (lodged) and is still available ? regards Barry

Is this link with another charity for a percentage a way to avoid the very costly legalities and permissions required here to run a charity without the government taking lots of the funds?

Just asking the question, have no knowledge or motive. I am sure Johnny Lee knows that.

Just do not understand

I am hoping to run an article soon to clarify the Ismael situation and give an update on the Festival 11 - and of course both involve the name of cheshire Home. I honestly believe that Lee did what he thought was best and expedient, and of course the problem (as I see it - and yet to be advised otherwise ) is that what started as a deformity and the need for a prosthesis for Ismail developed into treatment for cancer which is outside the scope of Cheshire Home. So it got complicated from the outset.

But I will try to write a full and fair article because there are so many undercurrent,s accusations, misunderstandings and who knows what else that need to be clarified for the sake of charity itself, and the names of many involved within it.

If anyone has anything to contribute, I would love to hear from you, as I do honestly feel (not being involved directly in any of this, and sohave no biases) that some beautiful clear waters have been turned into bowls of mud in the last year or s

Yes suehowlittle you are spot on. As I said earlier we had no objection to this what so ever.

80 % for Ismail is better than Zero.

But I later learned that as for collecting amongst ouselves IE. you kindly gave us money for a birthday present for Ismail. People sometimes give me money and say put this in Ismail's fund. Perfectly legal.

No different to me saying Hi Sue, heres 50 lira for you (a gift)

But Richard Currie stated in the newspaper, the money was LODGED, this was said to make it sound pretty at the time.

Well in my book if you say something you should adhere to it. (Don't get me wrong we are not after the money back) but I am sick of lies and whitewash.

It would be nice if we could please get this back on track and maybe some more people could send Ismail their blessing.

Keep going and remember you have lots of supports.

Msg 21 - I think it is something along the lines of " per ardua astra, (something else) then illegitima carborundrum. Many moons ago my husband (deceased) was in the airforce and it was his favourite saying.

I know the 'per ardua astra is power to the skies and the rest is self explanatory.

Anyway, off track for which I apologise.

We need to have a huge drive to raise more money for this little boy's assistance. Johnny, what you and Jan have done is marvellous - no-one could have done more. I hope the people on here who read this thread realise that.

Prayers for Ismael are needed but so is hard cash.

I have a rather large collection of books, is there any way that I could auction them myself to raise some dosh? I really do not want to stand at a stall in Lambousa or anywhere else.

Is it possible to auction them on here do you think to raise more money for the fund?

Just enlarging on the above idea, would anyone else be interested to auction anything else off. It might just be a bit of a new idea to raise funds.

Goodness me, when I think about it I do have quite a lot of stuff which could be auctioned to raise money.

Would we need a government licence?
