"Where can I find....?" http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/84643.asp

"Can anyone tell me where you can" http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/84670.asp

"Its me again yevray" http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/71735.asp

Is it because the posters' desired titles are too long?

Is it delberate to entice/fool more people into checking out the thread? My guess is that, on the contrary, in writing such titles, the poster will fail to deliver the message/question to at least some of the people he/she is targetting.

Must admit, where a subject is not included in the title, i do tend to give most of them a miss. If the poster cannot be bothered to include a subject, then why be bothered reading it!! Just my opinion of course.

I think it is an attempt to snare people, and as such, is best ignored

I think you need to change the "C" to a "G" on your user name. Come on guys is it to do with all the time you have on your hands?

Well done Crumpy - I have been aching to say something on those lines - but was too cowardly to brave the backlash.

It really is silly and arrogant if you want information not to specify what about. Not doing so may make you feel good that lots of people have read your thread, but probably the ones who might have been able/willing to help are too busy to read threads on the off chance .

It also irritates me when people start a new thread when there is already one on the same subject that has already given the info you want on the same page. Mind you, here a search facility would help to avoid that!

I do recall Han's saying as a once reporter its something to do with catching the eye.

Crumpy I think you have just started a Grumpy blooming thread that will get full up with posting from moaners.

Its a forum and life is too short for constantly complaining JMHO.

Any complaints go straight to the mods , poor mods

I tell you what winds me up - Bizzilizzi posting everything, and I mean EVERYTHING twice. What's that all about?

Message 8. I agree!!!!! I really dont do it deliberately. (in fact I am used to Boards where double postings are automatically deleted as scam!)

I apologised on a previous occasion and asked if the mods could explain what I was doing wrong but got no response.

If anyone could explain (and by the way I am not the only one this seems to happen to) I should be very grateful.

I dont really like multiple exclamation marks either, but sometimes its the only alternative to tearing ones hair out or throwing the PC out of the window!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you use the 'back' arrow on your browser. I do not know and have not tested it but I suspect that some of the double and multiple posts are because of this. Make post, send it, then you use the back button and it resends or something like that. Like I say just a guess.

Bizzilizzi, the reason you are posting twice is simple. You are hitting the post reply button twice

After you have stated what you want, remember to hit the "Post Reply" button ONCE ONLY for that topic ! LOL

Bizzilizzi, message 5, there is a search facility at the top of the page underneath all the headings.

Erolz Message 11. Yes you are right - it can happen like that! But having done it twice I am now doubly careful about it , and I dont think that is the reason for the recent repeats, certainly not the one a few days ago when a post appeared - to my embarrassment -three times.

Birdman : Message 12. Yes I am aware of that too and it is just possible because (having learned touch typing on a manual typewriter )I tend to be a little clumsy with an electronic keyboard. But again, I was aware of that danger , and am careful.

Also I do use other boards and (where I discovered about the back arrow pitfall when they screamed "Scam"!!!) and this is the only one where it now happens.

But thanks for taking an interest and trying to help.

The length of subject you have to put in annoys me there is no need to post after that really. So annoying "subject too short"

Thanks, Simbas. I didnt email (as you say it is hardly a hanging offence, though I realise it is annoying for others) but just put an apology and request for help in a post, easily missed, I realise Meanwhile I will try to slow down and think through what I am doing to see if I can identify the problem - one tends to go on auto pilot when posting in a hurry!
