Hi we purchased a house approx 2 years ago,at that time there were a few problems with vat & tax to be paid on transfer of deeds, my advocate held back approx £10,000 from the price of the house for any future problems that might happen,now what i want to know is that money mine or does it belong to the person who we bought the house from,& who gets the intrest while its sitting in my advocates holding account,many thanks

Depends what it is in your contract with your advocate.

Not very clear what you are asking. are you asking him to pay the Vendor or give it back to you and what are the circumstances? The matter of interest should have been discussed in the first insyance, not now. Forget it.

its not a question of whos money it is, but who should be earning the intrest on it while its sat there, thanks

I am a TRNC lawyer as well as a UK solicitor born and brought up in the UK and recently moved down to TRNC. Currently work at a law firm in Nicosia and can travel to Kyrenia as and when needed.
