In my post http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/84821.asp I said that I will sent my child to the public school.

Our daughter went last year (8 years old then) for only 4 month to the turkisch public school. She did not know the language at that time. The teacher said it was better to set her one class back and we agreed with him.

Of course it was difficult for here in the class, but the children were all very nice to her and paid a lot of attention to here. So after 4 month she could speak turkisch (not perfect, but she understood a lot). She played all the time with the turkisch children and their parents were really nice to her and proud that she was learning the language. After 4 month when school was ending for summer holiday our daughter read a speach from paper in front of all the parents. They gave here a big applause and were all so proud like if she was their child, that I tears in my eyes for their cordiality

This was the best way for us to integrate with the local people.

I am happy for you, but all children are different and what one child finds successful may not necessarily suit another.

A friend's child was very unhappy in the situation she was in, which was the one you describe.

She thrived when she was moved to ESK.

I think each parent must do what they feel is best for their own child.
