This Friday we will be holding a special memorial market for Maureen Hutchinson and there will be a book of remembrence available for anyone to sign. Now Maureen was a lady who loved bright colours, especially red. She would not have wanted us to gather in her memory wearing mournful, drab colours, so this week all the stall holders will wear red in her honour. If customers and friends of Maureen want to come along wearing a splash of red, all the better! We will hold a minutes silence at approxamately 11-30 to think of Maureen and all she represented. I hope that lots of you will join us. The market will of course continue as normal. Karen will be bringing fresh free range eggs, Fatma will be there with her delicious cakes, Ken the pieman and all the usual stalls, so please come along and support us. We have lots of space for new stalls, there is no stall rent and we especially need a regular book stall. Pam

I'll try to be there. Maureen was a lovely lady and deserves the recognition, and more.

I forgot to mention - if anyone is wanting to buy tickets for the Orchid cancer walk on the 12th of this month, there will be someone at Carpenters selling them. This was a project close to Maureen's heart and we are all hoping it will be well supported again this year in her memory. Pam

Hi Pam, Thank you for organising this in memory of Maureen, I will see you tomorrow. The Tulips stand will be there as it is the first Friday in the month and we are having a special promotion on books, cd's and dvd's at 1tl each. You may have seen the paintings that the children of ESK had painted for us in the papers this last week. The pictures were absolutely stunning and all painted by very talented 14yr and 15yr olds. These have been printed into cards and we will have these plus our tulips, moonstones and other cross stitch cards to sell. Sue

Thank you to everyone who turned up today at Carpenters, it was great to see so many ladies (and gentlemen) in red! Our little ceremony for Maureen was very moving, the energy was so strong, even the cats didn't move a muscle, it was uncanny, they sat there motionless, as if they knew there was something different happening. Maureen would have loved it and the book is almost half full. For those who couldn't make it this week, the book will be there next Friday and it will also be at the hash this sunday, for all you harriers out there. Pam
