mitsi,

the prices here are big. (a bit smaller in the south if you want to take the chance bringing it back)

try the builders shop in gonyeli, he will give some sort of discount if he has what your looking for.

Mistsi, Don't forget the protective clothes gogles etc. as if you make a mistake chain saws and circular saws can be lethal.

There are a couple of hire shops around and hiring would save you from any capital outlay. I am presuming that you have your own trees to carve up, if not then are you needing to chop up logs that have been delivered by someone else?

Don't forget you need a license here for one, if caught it will be confiscated. you can get a license from the forestry dept I think. You will need saw details and engine no' plus a few ytl for the paperwork....

OK rollinbones... where is the forestry dept?

I asked several times and was told the need for a licence was an urban myth, so I'm interested to know as I'd like to get my own...

The cheapest I've seen is 135 euros in Carrefour for an 'Oregon' made in China job.. may not be the best but if it's going to get confiscated who needs a Rolls Royce?

Hardy ha ha ha... AJ, good one.

I'm going to print licences for owning a generator... I reckon I can look like I'm doing nothing whilst reading the paper and drinking coffee with the best of them.. ;¬)

Then I can charge folk for a piece of paper for merely owning a gennie even though they don't need a licence or a gennie... double whammy, got to be a winner.. not sure why the TRNC government have not thought of it!
