Hi

I am travelling self catering to Kyrenia for Christmas and New year (for the first time)

Will restaurants be open on Christmas day and will we need to book in advance?

Secondly- Are there any events in Kyrenia over this period that you would reccomend?

Many Thanks

Jackie

hi jackie

most places are open over christmas, but some do close as new year is celebrated by the cypriot community as well as us.

most good restaurants will need booking in advance for both dates.

Hi Jackie,

I am writing from the Mountain View Hotel, just outside Kyrenia. We are a family run hotel hotel having moved out from Crystal Palace, south-east London.

We have a Christmas package from the 24-26 December. The hotel rooms are sold out but there are still some bungalows available.

The package consists of accomodation, breakfast, Christmas Eve dinner with music accompanied by DJ Mike and local drinks being free from 1900hrs-2300hrs. On Christmas day there is breakfast, Christmas Day lunch and an open buffet in the evening. Entertainment is provided by singer Dawn, with local drinks being free from 1500hrs-1800hrs and 2000hrs-2300hrs.

Boxing day breakfast is served before departure.

With accomodation this is 80 UKP per person.

Without accomodation, Christmas eve dinner & free local drinks is 25 UKP per person, and Christmas Day lunch, evening buffet & free local drinks is 30UKP per person.

Regards,

Sue

Hi Jackie,

I have stayed at the Mountain View on numerous occasions and must say its a lovely place. Great staff, and a nice homely atmosphere.

Never been in Cyprus for the winter season, but I'm sure it'd be a lovely do.

Good luck with with whatever you choose.

Hi Linus,

At the Mountain View Hotel we are also offering a New Year's Eve package. It consists of accomodation, special starters, main course, desert, fruits and free local drinks from 1930hrs-0030hrs. We have live music by singer Dawn confirmed, but we are looking into providing a Turkish singer for our local clientele, as it will be a joint event.

The whole package is 45 UKP per person, or 35 UKP without accomodation.

If you would like to come and have a look beforehand, please feel free and we would gladly show you around. Just ask for Sue or Oz. We are just past Tempo on the right hand side opposite Bell Foods.

Regards,

Sue
