Hi If you are flying on with the same airline you bags will be checked all the way through, you don't need a visa if you are not leaving the airport, as you will be classed as a transit passenger. The airport is massive so you should have plenty to do!

Does not matter if flying with same airline or not. As long as your bags are checked through at the beginning to Ercan, you do not need to worry about them.

Just follow the signs for transit - at the end of the arrival corridor and go upstairs.

If changing airlines at Istanbul, get new boarding card at the desks in the same corridor.

You should get a 90 day visa at Ercan - just check your passport when it has been stamped.

re: msg#5

Ask for a 90 day visa, don't wait for it to be stamped because if you get a 30 day stamp and then ask for a 90 day all you will get is a shrug of the shoulders.

Your bags will only be checked through if you are flying with the same airline or a partner so confirm at check in.

Billywiz, if you travelling with the same airline then you will receive both boarding cards at Ercan and your luggage will be automatically put on to the flight for your onward journey. As said previously, just proceed through Transit.

If your Istanbul to Ercan flight is with OnurAir you have to pay 10gbp for a visa at Istanbul, go through passport control, pick up your bags & check in again! I had this unfortunate experience last week - Boarding cards for OnurAir cannot be issued in transit - I missed my flight and had to buy another ticket with Atlasjet to get home. If you're using different airlines who don't co operate with each other you're better off with just hand baggage!
